The wolf squirmed before you, before the both of you knew what was happening. You stepped forward to examine it and only noticed a balding spot on it's back. The wolf's head shot up and growled at you and you hessitated to continue forward.
The wolf then lowered it's face and forced it's head down with it's paws as his hair continued to thin. His fangs shrunk in size and flatened out. His ears rounded and positioned themselves lower on his head. His feet shortened and his balance was lost to the dirt as his back end flung to the ground and his legs lengthened and pushed out, like being free from a trap. He stretched his toes out as his claws lightened and retreated to the top of his toes. His paws became hands, and he continued to hold his face.
His tail remained as did the hair on his head. He crawled away from us and curled up into a ball over by a nearby tree and hid his face from the light. No doubt his snout was gone, and his face was human, to match the rest of his bodies transformation. His legs folded to hide his genitals and he cowered at the sight of us.
"GO AWAY!" The man said, around his late twenties, you imagined.
You looked over at Angel and her face was indifferent. Like this sort of thing happens every day. You began to approach the man again and he returned a sort of grunted snarl at me. But this time you were not afraid, for he was merely a man.
"I didn't mean to do it! It was the wolf, NOT me!" The man paniced before you laid a gentle hand on his arm. You took his wrist firmly and stood him up.
"Who are you?" You asked with authority.
"I'm Ralph Faolan! I'm.. I'm.. a murderer," He said and his face twisted in agony. You let him go and he slid down the tree, the bark scratching his back roughly.
"You're wolf form said that you followed us into the mirror. Is that true?" You asked.
The man gave a gentle nod. "I believe so," he said. "I've been stuck in the countryside for days. But at night, I wake to find myself trapped in this, land time forgot!" The man said. "I have no memmory of myself as the wolf, only the dreded change and a few momments of being the wolf do I remember anything more. I must have been tracking you," Ralph said.
"So you don't remember killing a young child and her grandmother?" You asked.
"I imagine I killed a lot more people than that!" Ralph said regretfully.
"Well, how long have you been here? When was the first time you realized that you were no longer in the city?" You asked.
"I think three or four months ago. It's so hard to tell. I don't exactly know whats been going on."
"Three months ago? Why don't you know why whats been going on?" You asked.
"There is something wrong. I use to change when it was just a full moon," Ralph admited. "Now I change every night!"
"That is odd," You said.
"It's this place. This world the moon cycles are different. Everynight is a full moon," Angel said.
"Every night!?" You and Ralph said.
"Yes," Angel said.
"We've got to help him!" You said immediately.
"As noble as that would be, the only way to resolve lycanthropy is by killing the wolf that infected this man, or killing Ralph." Angel said.
"We've got to try," You said. "What of the Magical Water of Medora?" You asked. "That could change him back to his pure form!"
"It's too risky. Time is against us. It will be a weeks journey to Medora." Angel said.
"I thought you said Llegoce was the quickest way!?" You protested.
"IT IS!" She gritted her teeth at you.
You quieted down.
"It is too risky to bring him..." Angel said. "But, if you wish to bring him, it is your choice."
