On the first day Randy was assigned to haul tourists around in carriages. It wasn't hard, but it was very boring. He spent most of the day standing around in the City section, waiting for someone to pay for a ride. He stayed in the City long into the night, and missed meeting with Anna back on the Farm. He decided to try to find her the next day.
The next day he was assigned the back breaking labor of hauling the heavy logs that were cut down to clear a forest for a new field. He liked using his new powerful muscles, but by the end of the day he was exhausted and his muscles ached. He crawled back into his stall and went straight to sleep, not bothering to look for Anna.
On the third day he was plowing fields. This seemed to be the worst job. Not only was it boring walking up and down the field in a straight line, but the large yoke made his neck and shoulders sore. By the end of the day, he had reached his limit. He was ready to quit. He walked up to the General, who was pulling his own plow.
"Well, Snowball, how are you doing? It looks like your field still needs some work. Better get that yoke back on, " said the General.
"That's it, sir. I am done. I quit, " said Randy.
The General dropped the yoke from his neck and chuckled. "Quit? What are you talking about? You can't quit!"
"What?" said Randy with shock.
"You mean you don't know? How can he not know?" said the General with some confusion. "You can't quit because ....."
