"We're gonna drop in on my co-workers," proclaimed Jenny.
In Cassie's original reality, Jenny -- her mother -- was a lawyer, but she presumed that was no longer the case.
"Yeah, this is gonna be a lot of fun," said Jenny. "You think I can use this ring to get there?"
"Uh, maybe we should drive," suggested Cassie, trying to give herself more time to think of how to get the ring away from her determined mother. "I think if you wished we were just there all of a sudden, it might be weird."
"Huh," said Jenny, wrinkling her forehead and looking like she was using most of her brain power to figure out what she wanted to do. Finally, she said, "Okay, but we should drive in style! I wish I had a fancy sports car instead of that stupid little Honda."
Sparks shot out of the ring in the general direction of the house's garage as Cassie's stomach dropped a bit -- in the old reality, her lawyer mother had driven a Mercedes.
They walked to the garage, Jenny excited and Cassie less so, and Jenny squealed when she saw the red Ferrari with its top down. The two young women got in the car, and Jenny said, "Ooh, just thought of something -- I wish all the traffic lights would be green as we drive!"
This time, the sparkles went to and apparently through the roof of the garage. Before they'd even stopped shooting out, Jenny had the car started and was backing out.
"Okay, Jenny, you've got a lot of things you wanted," Cassie said as they drove down the street, seeing only green lights ahead. "I think you should let me have the ring back before you do something you might regret."
"What's that, honey?" Jenny asked. "Hard to hear you over the engine and the wind."
"We're not going that fast," grumbled Cassie.
Jenny pointed to her right ear with a manicured fingernail and shook her head as if she couldn't hear Cassie. Her daughter just sat back into the buttery leather seat and crossed her arms, which only served to remind her of the much larger chest she now possessed, closing her eyes and silently wishing that this would go back to normal.
