(Lucie & Tabby) Dr. Tucker's preliminary report to the Town Chancellor

added by Unnamed 7 years ago O

Note to s1:
Your chapter named "A Doctor's Concerns & Reports (Lucie & Tabby)" don't work that well with the previous one, since:
1- The doc didn't test Lucie's blood against another were's one in my chapter, and so couldn't warn her before letting her go
2- I think Dr. Tucker would have said it was inactive rather than dead, if it was the case. But she clearly stated it was dead, so… (Not only that, but the the consequences it has were explained, for it to kill other weres would mean only were of the same kind could have sex without killing each others, when it already was explained that ISN'T the case.)

That said, it DOES bring a good point: what would happen if Tabby had sex with another were? (And what about a human?)
+++++++++++

As Lucie and Tabby left the hospital, Doctor Tucker returned to the lab reviewing what she had uncovered with regard to Lucie's DNA and the "potion" that had been provided. She thought extensively of her adoptive daughter, Rikki, as she walked, as the present scenario for Lucie had put herself in was potentially worse than Rikki's. Rikki would grow up to be a healthy werecheetah and would be able to enjoy everything about Moon Lake. But unlike Rikki, Lucie still had all the memories of her time as Luc. Would she be able to live a healthy life regardless?

Trying to concentrate on the task at hand, Dr. Tucker suddenly remembered what the girls had said: While Luc was the only one who changed, to the point of becoming Lucie, he wasn't the only one who drank a potion, Tabby had too. She tried to go after them, but they were gone.

The doctor then tried to phone them. She may only had Lucie's number, she was certain her message would be promptly transmitted to Tabby. But she was instantly asked to let a message, Lucie's phone not even ringing once.

It was frustrating, as there were still residual issues related to Henry Wendz's actions regarding Rikki's transformation and the people the geneticist had manipulated, and at times, even the soft movements of the child within her, as she was five months pregnant, didn't fully change things. There were things that needed to be cleaned up from all those actions that would require some work on her part, and the "mother" in her was still furious at the local Moon Lake news agencies for butting their noses into Rikki's privacy, and this latest event had only added into all that. She had talked with Samantha Twist on the phone, and the city would be wanting a full explanation of her findings regarding Lucie's DNA, the nature of the werecat virus within her, and how the potions worked. It was simply adding more to what Doctor Kathy Tucker held as an already full plate for herself.

“You doing okay, Doctor Tucker?” her main nurse asked as Kathy returned to the lab.

“Personally... I'm fine,” Kathy sighed, “though it would appear that we've got another problem on our hands regarding Luc/Lucie Damocles...”

“The tests we ran first thing this morning and last night?” her nurse asked.

“Yes,” Kathy answered, “and the report we're going to have to give to the city. I'm going to be on the phone for a few minutes to try and sort all this out.”

“If any base orders come in, I can handle them,” her nurse assured her.

Kathy nodded and picked up her phone and dialed the number that would get her straight to Samantha Twist's office. She got the Town Chancellor's secretary first. Kathy explained her call and was soon put through to the Town Chancellor.

“Hello,” Samantha said slowly over the phone.

“Hello, Mrs. Twist,” Kathy spoke, “this is Doctor Tucker with the results you requested regarding Lucie Damocles.”

“You have the results?” Samantha asked.

“Yes, and we will send you the paper records for your own records on the issue if you wish to keep them for whatever files you will have on her,” Kathy spoke, “this call is just to tell you what I've discovered.”

“Okay, go ahead,” Samantha spoke slowly. “What sort of mess do we have?”

“Well... the actions that Tabby and Lucie have undertaken have completed a full transformation from a human male to a healthy werecat,” Kathy spoke, “which is a rather good thing. But she don't have any trace of the were-virus left in her.”

“Are you could be changed into another kind of were?” Wondered Samantha.

“No she can't, but she can't transmit the virus either, not having it in her anymore. She also disprove part of our theories on how the virus work. It so mind-boggling I forgot to ask for Tabby's blood!” admitted the doctor. “I tried to call them, but couldn't reach them at the moment. I left a message on Lucie's phone, but don't know when she will hear it.”

“If I see any of them, I will let them know you need to run some tests on Tabby,” said the town chancellor.

“Thanks.”
