(Lucie & Tabby) Something's strange in the neighbo~ Err… In her bloodstream

added by Unnamed 7 years ago O

“I confirm that miss Damocles is healthy, along with entirely and utterly female, which in itself is unbelievable. But there is other point that make things even less believable that I would like to discuss” declared Dr. Tucker.

“As you know, when a normal become a were, their strain of the virus stay in their bloodstream, even once it finished rewriting their DNA. Why having the virus in our blood make us able to initiate the change of a normal by clawing, bitting or having sex with him is still an unexplained mystery,” reminded the doctor. “But not in Lucie's case. Once it had finished rewriting her DNA, the werecat viruses present in her organism died.”

“Are you saying I'm not, technically, a were?” Asked Lucie.

“You ARE a werecat, down to the DNA. But I tried mixing your blood with the blood of a normal, and the result was the same to mixing the DNA of two normals with a different blood type,” said Dr. Tucker “after what I tried to expose some of your blood-samples to a different strain of the were-virus, but the new virus died the same way the werecat's one did. I tried multiple time, with all strain of the were-virus found in Moon Lake, none survived your blood.”

“What does that mean, in practice?” wanted to know Tabby.

“First, it mean that the most accepted theory on why a were can't be affected by a different strain of the virus than his own, which say it's because his own strain protect its host from the intruder, is false” revealed Kathy Tucker. “Secondly, it could mean Lucie can only give birth to normals, but I'm not too sure on this one.”

Lucie may have knew of her possible inability to transmit the were-virus, but hearing confirmation of it was still a shock, as was how her very existence disproved the main theory on why weres couldn't infect each others.

It shocked Tabby just as much, if not even more, but she somehow recovered from it faster and ended being the one giving Luc's (possible) DNA samples to the doctor, along with the two vials in which the potions used to be.

The last thing Tabby did before they exited the hospital, was to ensure Lucie got her first prescription of contraception pills. After all, even if she's not interested in men, it's still better to be safe than sorry.
