The two gryphons new what must be done. Folding their wings around the tiny toddler, they closed their eyes and focused their magic upon little Sandra. For her part, Sandra felt a warm tingling, as if she was held by her mother. She didnt notice as her feet became those of a cat...and her hands the talons of a bird. She didnt feel her wings growing, her body shifting or her face pushing to a bird's beak.
In moments, the once human child was transformed to a tiny gryphon hatchling, her old clothes shifting and changing to the shattered remnants of a shell. In her mind...memories of being human faded. The little gryphon looked up with wide, curious eyes and immediately imprinted on the two adults.
Mara and her mate nuzzled down into the child, their child. They knew there would be many more to come. Taking wing, the gryphons spirited away their hatchling back to the nest, leaving the box of vials behind.
