Julia and Ameline emerged arm-in-arm from the building, Julia with her doghead and Ameline as an utterly beautiful woman with the head of a cat. Both were wearing robes similar to those shown in Old Kingdom Egyptian art. Molly and I bowed low before the new goddess, with an added devotion caused by the feline part of our nature as sphinxes.
"Thank you" said Ameline, accepting our devotion. The slits in her eyes narrowed slightly, and she asked "When was the last time you two made love?"
"Uh" said Molly "We've been kind of busy."
Bastet turned to her partner with a look of mock-rage. "Death-goddess, are you really so clueless that you can't see that these poor sphinxes are sexually starving?"
"Well" Anubis began.
Bastet was rolling her eyes. "I know" she cut her partner off. "It's not your department. But it is mine." She turned back to us. "Hmmm. . ." she said. "Dear Julia's cluelessness isn't the only issue here, is it? There was a mistake made when you were made sphinxes. Something wasn't made quite right. Hold still, close your eyes and prepare yourselves to receive the grace of Bastet."
You don't disobey a direct order from a goddess, so Molly and I closed our eyes. I felt myself shrinking slightly, the shape of my body changing, a fruitful space opening up inside me.
"Open your eyes" spoke Bastet. I opened them, and looked up to see a strong, handsome male anthrosphinx standing where Molly had been. I looked down at my new, unmistakeably female body as I felt a jolt of sexual energy running through my body like an electric shock.
"I left the door to the apartment open." Bastet was saying. "I don't want to see hide nor hair of you two for a week! Make lots of little sphinxes to serve the gods!"
Molly scooped me up in his arms and was bounding up the stairs three at a time. Even with all the distractions I could hear Bastet muttering "This fertility goddess thing means I'm going to have to spend a lot of time dealing with straights, doesn't it?"
Anubis barked in an amused way. "Fraid so, love, fraid so."
