You think about it for a second. Gene is a good friend of yours, and more than anything, he's very reliable. You're pretty excited about this amazing find, so you decide you really want to tell him about it.
"Gene, you see this flashlight?" you say pointing at it. "What about it?" Gene responds.
"I want you to try using it, but promise me you will give it back right away. Oh, and don't use it on me!" you add quickly, realizing full well that Gene could really change your life if he messes with the light. Gene is confused, not sure what to think of it, but responds with an "ok."
You turn the light to medium pink and hand it to him. "Just shine it on someone - anyone," you say to Gene. He turns the light on and shines it on the ground, then moves it up to a waiter standing on a terrace, taking on someone's order. You watch as Gene moves the light irregularly over the man's body, but don't notice anything changing. His black shoes, skirt, single breast, and short hair are exactly the same as before the light hit him, you believe. Gene seems to think differently.
"Holy crap!" he exclaims, quickly turning the light off. "How do I undo that!? What in the world just happened?" Gene's quite surprised by what happened. "Don't worry," you say. "You're the only one in the world that noticed him changing. For the rest of the world, including me, he has always looked like that. I assume the breast is new? It's really hard to tell, because it seems so normal on him." It really does - you feel like you wouldn't have been surprised if you met him now without knowing what happened to him. It's natural for him to have a breast, eventhough you don't know anyone else in your life that looks like that.
"So what you're saying is that you don't see the difference?" Gene asks, calming down as he sees the waiter taking orders as though nothing happened. "Yeah," you respond, looking him in the eyes. You hear a very faint click and look back down. You watch Gene shining a light at your crotch.
"Damnit Gene, I told you not to use it on me!" You yell. You're mad. At least it's on pink, so it probably won't change your vagina much, but you're still mad. "Give it back!"
Gene quickly turns the light off. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry! Did you notice that? I promise I'll turn you back to normal," he says. You just grab the light back out of his hands. "Just don't do it again." You don't even want to think about what kind of effect that had. You don't feel any different, though, so you find it difficult to stay angry.
The two of you talk about the light for a while, trying it out on random passerbys. You don't allow Gene to touch the light anymore, so he doesn't notice the changes, but he has fun guessing. Gene comes up with various ideas for what to do with the light.
