Relocation

added by Unnamed 7 years ago O

Altering the spell without uncasting it, Julie first made sure it also covered Trisha. Then she made all the Richardsons unaffected by it. Then, just in case, she made sure any thief wouldn't be able to perceive anything of value inside the house. "Did it work?"

She didn't got any answers, but if the shriek of terror from Mr. Richardson was any indication, it did work, which caused a very pissed Alice Richardson to wake up her husband in a rather painful way.

To everyone surprise when her husband, Victor, woke up, he said “You look just like her…” to Janith. Before anyone could ask more details, he added “Sorry, it's… An old legend in my family. According to it, one of my ancestors saw his mother changed into a demon against her will, and her body wasn't the only thing that changed. This ancestor only escaped the monster his mother had become thanks to his father's sacrifice. I don't know if he knew how to write, but he sure knew how do draw and– and while your body look a lot like after her demonization or whatever you call it, your worried face look a lot like hers during her transformation, at least according to the drawings.”

That let everyone speechless, but gave Janith some thinking to do. For most demons, humans were either a food source, potential converts or playthings, if not a mix of the three. But sometimes, a demon could simply hate humanity. Generally, they were former humans that lost something precious to them. Janith mother is one such demon, a woman forcefully turned succubus who, later, gave birth so several other succubi, including our love-stuck demoness. But what her mother had lost, she didn't know, not until she heard Mr. Richardson's little story: her only son.

Janith wondered if she could use this to help her mother recover her humanity, at least mentally. It could be nice to have her mother on her side, to establish with her what humans considered as a normal mother/daughter relationship…

Once everyone had recovered from Victor's revelation and the subsequent discovery that Janith and him might be distant relatives, Angelica become quite adamant that the Fisher family should relocate itself, preferably to a church.

But that was without counting on Alice Richardson, who asked “Why the Fishers couldn't stay at our house for the time being? That way they could maintain some level of normalcy, watch for any demons coming for them at their house, and all this while being somewhere safe. Or are you unable to consecrate my home, miss Angelica?”
