The basement was crowded with old props from the Haunted House: Frankenstein monsters, mummy cases, coffins, styrofoam tombstones, sheets with ghost faces, jack o'lanterns, iron maidens, paper machete tress, dragons, and unidentifiable odds and ends. Bobby knocked over a suit of armor. There was a large crash.
"Sh!"
"Quiet!"
"Sorry," Bobby said struggling noisily to put the armor back together.
"Leave it be, Bobby. Let's get upstairs and enjoy the haunted house," Carl said standing by a staircase.
"Hey, what's this?" asked Gary standing under a large silver pipe open sticking out of the ceiling, and pointing at a huge red button on the wall. He pushed the button.
"No!"
WHOOSH! Gary was sucked up the pipe with his feet kicking. His shoes went flying, one hit Bobby in the head sending him crashing into the armor again.
Carl shouted, "I bet someone heard that. Let's go!" He dashed up the stairs.
Scott went over to help Bobby get up.
Carl opened the door at the top of the stairs. He stepped into a red wallpapered and mirror covered hallway. Fake ghosts moved behind the mirrored glass. There was a grinding sound. The door closed behind Carl. What was keeping those guys? He opened the door again, but it opened into another hallway not the staircase. Damn, the rooms and doors move!
Bobby and Scott went up the staircase, and opened the door. They were inside a room filled with glowing green ghosts on a mechanism that moved them along passed windows that opened into a red wall papered hallway. The saw Carl through the windows, and realized they were on the backside of one-way glasses.
"Hey, Carl!" Scott shouted. But he couldn't hear them over the blaring haunted music and sounds. Carl vanished through a doorway. Scott went over to the mirror and pounded on it. Bobby sat down on a chair and leaned back. He must've triggered a trapdoor, and found himself sliding down a slide back into a basement room.
