Marina decided to go to bed and for some reason decided to put on the medallion.
Not even after 5 minutes laying in bed, she felt her legs pressing together and her feet flattening into thin blue fins. As her legs merged, blue scales started to cover her lover half. She also had fins growing where her "shins" should have been and as well as her "thighs", more fins grew along her arms as well as thin blue webbing between her fingers. She then felt a warm and dry sensation at her sides, which caused her to glance down only to catch the gills that opened and closed.
She stared at her transformation in shock as her tail fin flopped uselessly on the bed. Not even a minute later she started to feel dry and short of breath, she glanced over to her night stand to grab the cup of water, only to find it was knock over. She was getting desperate for water. She flopped about on her bed till she fell off and started to desperately drag and flop her way to the bathroom.
As she reached the closed door to the bathroom, she was panting for breath, even starting to gasp. This feeling was down right horrible, her scales ached and burned from the dryness, breathing was extremely hard and her skin felt drier than it ever had in her life.
She reached up to the door handle and it opened with ease. She collapsed at the threshold, weakly flopping her tail and gasping in the harsh dry air that not even 10 minutes before was fine to her.
She had to make it to the bathtub fast, she mustered every bit of strength she had in her to drag herself over the cool tiled floor of the bathroom. Half way to the tub, every bit of her body was aching from lack of water as her gills opened and closed wildly in the dry air. She could barely breathe!
After all her efforts, she finally made it to the tub and weakly manged to pull herself over into the tub, which had no water. She laid their at the bottom of the tub, her chest heaving and tail flopping weakly. She reached up with her webbed hand to turn on the water.
At last! pure relief as the tub slowly but surely filled with water. She was able to fit her whole body in the tub as water soaked her parched scales and reached her gills allowing her to breathe.
As the tub filled with cool water, she stayed submerged only to reach out and turn off the water as it reached its spilling point. She stayed like that for about 10 minutes thinking about her next move.
She new she couldn't live out of the water, but she also couldn't stay in the tub forever. She finally pushed herself up into a sitting position against the tub, only her head and shoulders above the water. Their was no way she could get to the ocean on her own, it was at least 5 miles down the road. She would have to call for help, which seemed like a great idea, until she realized that she left her phone on the other side of the hotel suite. She didn't know if could make it, knowing she barely made it from her bed to the tub which was a mere 20 feet. As far as she new, she was as good as stuck.
