CYOTF (New)

She gets revenge

added by The Brilliant Dr. Garfield 7 years ago O

"I want powers for a week. Let me take care of those bastards myself." Jennifer said, leaning back in her chair with satisfaction. "Very well." The old woman said, screwing up her face. "Shall we discuss your fee now? Or at the end of the week?" she said. "Later, later." Jennifer replied urgently. "I just want to get out there and give those guys what they deserve." Her usually cheerful face contorted into a conniving one full of hate and malice.

"Are you sure you're making the right choice, child?" The old woman asked, looking concerned. "I know I am." Jennifer said somberly. "As you wish." The old woman said, shaking her head. "Now, here is what I want you to do." Jennifer leaned in closer, eager to hear the words for the spell. "You will leave the main building and walk towards the convince store across the street. Look in the field behind the store and you will find a blood-red flower with a snow-white center. Pick it. A deer will come out of the forest across from you. Feed it the flower and..." the old woman hesitated. "...you will see what happens." "Oh yes, yes, I'll go do that right now." Jennifer said, jumping up. She sloppily grabbed the old woman's hand and shook it far too log and far too hard than necessary. "Thank you so much." And without a second glance, she raced out of the hall.

The old woman shook her head as she dissolved into nothingness. "Foolish child." She muttered. "All that power is just going to go to her head. I should not have given her the opportunity at all." Then the old woman disappeared with a cracking sound, like a whip. Then the hall went dark and was quiet.

Jennifer, meanwhile, raced across the road towards the convenience store. It was a dumpy little building made out of cracked bricks. A sign in the window advertised $1.50 six packs and beef jerky. Passing these over, Jennifer raced past the store and into the woods behind it. She ran through bush after bush, following trail after trail, until she could see the path in the moonlight up ahead. At last, she broke out onto a clearing with spare grass and many loose stones. In the center of the field was the flower the old woman had mentioned earlier. It looked very beautiful under the bright moonlight, with it's blood-red petals drooping down towards the sand earth. The raised center protrudes like a pearl.

She eagerly rushed forward and plucked the flower. Suddenly, the wind picked up, rattling the branches together. The leaves and pine needles whipped in the air, making strange rustling sounds. Jennifer gasped with shock as a dark figure stepped out of the woods in front of her and started walking towards her. It was a large deer, a buck, judging by it's horns. The deer seemed to approach Jennifer cautiously, sniffing with it's large muzzle, looking for something. "Hey, buddy.' Jennifer whispered, The deer's head shot up and he cocked his head, looking puzzled but not malicious. "I brought you something..." she said, pulling out a bag of sugar cubes.

The deer approached her cautiously, but accepted her because she seemed noble. Jennifer fed it a few sugar cubes before holding up the flower. "Here, boy." She said. The flower took one sniff of the flower and immediately swallowed it. Suddenly, the deer began to convulse. It fell to the ground and writhes while Jennifer stood back in shock. It opened it's mouth and a thick, gold-colored liquid seeped out of the mouth. It got up soon after that and went back into the forest.

Jennifer was confused again. What were they supposed to do? Drink it? Deciding on the latter, Jennifer reached down and brought out a huge handful. She put some in her mouth, It tasted like honey and it was warm. The warmth spread down the entire body from the top of her head to the tips of her toes. She closed her eyes and opened them again, but didn't realize they were now purple. She certainly felt different, but did her new "powers" actually work?

She saw a squirrel in a nearby tree. She put out her hand and waved it in the squirrel's direction. A beam of purple light shot across the clearing and hit the squirrel in the chest. It squeaked as it started to grow larger and be covered in white feathers. It's head shrunk and it's small mouth pushed out into beak. A few minutes later, a chicken sat in the tree where the squirrel once was, terrified to get down.

Jennifer laughed and started heading back towards the campus. They would be getting what's coming for them, that's for sgggG
