With all the screaming and yelling that had come on, it was no surprise that it caught attention. Mary's neighbor was a little girl about 12 years old, and after she saw Brian leave the house, she came inside.
"Mary! Mary are you all right?" The towheaded girl padded inside and stopped short. She recognized the mermaid, but couldn't believe her eyes.
"Mary?!" she gasped.
Poor Mary stared at the child, gasping for breath. "Jess...help me...please!"
Jess wasn't sure what to do. Looking around though she had an idea. She ran to the bathroom and got several blankets very wet. She then dragged them out and covered Mary with them.
"Hang on mary!" The girl said, her overalls and sneakers soaking wet from the water. Thankfully, the water soaked in and Mary felt releif.
"Please...get the box of vials for me, get the human one!" Mary said.
Jess nodded, "Okay but what's going on?"
"Ill explain, please!" Mary gasped.
The girl fetched the box, and handed her a vial. Mary was so frightened and wanting to turn back, she didnt notice what vial it was.
