Marina sat in that tub for hours. It was her only choice and she knew it. The fact that she couldn't exit the tub was made clear by her aching muscles. She had really become a fish, and judging by the time that had passed and the fact that she still had a fin, it didn't look like that would ever change. Whatever that medallion did, it really did her in for good. She sat there int hat tub, wondering what everybody would think when she got home, or if she was even going to be able to go home ever again. Her trail of thought was interrupted by her door being opened. Marina realized that now was her chance to leave the tub, or at least get some sort of assistance.
"Help! In the bathroom!" she yelled as loud as she could.
The cleaning lady ran as fast as she could towards the tub, "Hello, are you hurt?" she asked.
"Come see for yourself" Marina said in an exhausted voice.
The cleaning lady entered the room and was astonished to say the least. Right before her eyes, there was a naked mermaid sitting in the bathtub. She was at a complete loss of words.
"I put on a medallion and it turned me into a mermaid, I've been stuck like this for at least 8 hours and it looks like it's permanent, I can't breathe without water so I need help getting out of this tub so I can figure out what to do next, could you please call someone?" Marina explained.
The woman was clearly shocked and didn't know who to call or what to do, she just stood there and asked, "So...you just...turned into a mermaid"?
Marina hated the way the woman looked at her. It was as if she was some sort of freak, not even human, and this was exactly what she was afraid of. Losing her ability to walk and live outside of water was a seperate issue, but would she be looked down upon as some sort of helpless being for the rest of her life? She started to tear up, if she has never put that medallion on she wouldn't be sitting here wondering how she was going to live as a fish. She wouldn't have a big floppy tail and wouldn't need water to live. This vacation had turned into her worst nightmare in the blink of an eye, and she knew her life as she knew it was over.
