Marina knew she couldn't stay in the tub forever, she'd eventually get hungry or eventually have to leave the hotel suite. But she couldn't really be out of the water for more than 5 minutes.
She left her phone in the suite living room near the kitchen which was past the bedroom right outside the bathroom, could she make it? An idea struck her, she grabbed a towel and soaked it in the tub which should help her stay wet a little longer out of water. She wondered if it'd work, still she had no other choice. She hoisted her body out of the tub flopping a bit on the tiles, making sure the soaked towel was covering as much of her tail as possible. She pulled herself along the cool tiles and reached the open door onto the carpeted bedroom. She was growing tired already and the carpet seemed to start drying her out despite the soaked towel, still she'd made it a lot further.
She quickly realized that the towel wasn't working as well as she'd thought it would, she was drying up faster on the carpet of the hallway, and her breathing was getting thin.
No. She has to try harder, through the unbearable dryness and breathing in dry air she continued to flop and pull her way through the living room. Upon reaching the tiled kitchen floor she saw her phone on its charging cradle....which was unfortunately on the highest counter top. She groaned and weakly flopped her dry tail, she couldn't reach her phone and she had made it pretty far from the tub and she was finding it hard to breathe as her gills flared trying to breathe in the dry hot air.
This was bad, very bad!
"Water....I need water" she thought.
Her breathing became hard, her scales felt extremely dry, her skin felt hot....she needed to head back into the tub.
She decide to take advantage of the space of the living and rolled her way to the hallway that led into the master bedroom. Once reaching the hallway she resumed to weakly dragging herself with her webbed hands. She didn't have much further to go, she could make it... she had to, no other option.
She soon reached the cool tiles of the bathroom which lent her small relief, but she still felt a desperate need for water. By now she was practically gasping for breath, she was weak. She reached the tub and the challenge of hoisting her fishy body into the tub wasn't going to be easy.
She mustered every last bit of strength in her to do so, by reaching up and barely being able to pull her top half over the edge them slipping fully into the tub.
To say that it was a relief to be back in water was understatement, she greedily gulped in water through her gills, the extreme dryness of her entire body was fading away as she lay in the tub completely submerged.
She was down right exhausted, her muscles ached and she felt like she ran for miles.
Her she was, practically a fish stuck in a tub and nowhere to go.She didn't want to go through that again. Her body had really changed into something that belonged in the ocean and certainly not on dry land. She was as good as stuck.
