"Lorene, I made a wish last night too. I wished..." Nate paused for a moment. He wasn't sure she'd even believe him. Even if she would, part of him didn't want to admit it. He let out a sigh and decided to just blurt it out. "I wished I was a werewolf and last night it actually came true."
Lorene leaned back and thought that over, looking down and away from Nate. He watched her anxiously, trying to judge her response. She then looked up at him, looking a bit uneasy. "That was you? You turned into that thing...that beast?"
Nate nodded. "Yeah, I did."
To Nate's surprise, she threw her arms around him and gave him a tight hug. After a moment she let go and leaned back, looking in his eyes.
"What was that for?" asked Nate.
"I think you may have saved me last night. He was trying to force himself on me. He would've come after me and who knows what would've happened." Lorene seemed really grateful.
"Oh, well hopefully I continue the trend of monstrously violent good deeds since tonight is the second night of the full moon and I have a feeling this is permanent." Nate gave her a feeble smile. "The really scary thing though is I think I enjoyed it."
"Oh. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens," replied Lorene.
Nate leaned back and wondered if this really was permanent and the ramifications it would have on his future, now that the was an actual teenage werewolf. This weekend was fine as his folks were out of town, but beyond that? He couldn't help but get a little worried about what was happening to him and how much further it may go.
