"Yes!" Brian shouted as he was pulled back from the mare, afraid that it was already too late to take advantage of Dar's offer. Even as he answered, he realized it was a stupid decision. He did not know this kid, and certainly had no idea what he was getting himself in for. Still, it was just a game, wasn't it? And he wanted to make the most out of this crazy experience.
Dar laughed. "Just in time to get a horse's soul! See you in a year!"
"Huh? Wha...?" Brian started to object as heard something about his soul, but then the world went black. No, not black. devoid of everything. There was no light, no sound, no sensations at all. He existed, he was aware. But incomplete. Brian's memories were jumbled, confused, emotions of curiosity and fear and bewilderment flickered in and out, but the overpowering sense of missing something was strongest. Brian did not know what he needed, only that he needed it badly and soon. And suddenly, there was pressure against him. Prodding, bumping. Brian had sudden knowledge of what he was and why his very soul was now that of a horse. One of the millions of Mike's sperm broke through and Brian the egg started its year-long journey to rebirth as a foal.
