Kelly went into what was once Katie's room, which was now her room, since all the clothes fit her, and the bed was the right size for her. But she was still aware that Katie's ring had wished her to a six year-old girl and her daughter into a thirty-six year-old woman who believed herself to be Kelly's mother.
'This whole mess started with that stupid ring. I wish Katie had never brought it home with her.' Kelly thought and then it suddenly hit her.
'Wait a minute, wish, that's it! If I can get that ring from Katie then I can be the one to make wishes instead of her. I'll even be able to make things go back to normal.' Kelly thought to herself as she finished getting dressed in her daughter's old clothes and went back to confront Katie about the ring.
"Ka-er, I mean, mommy?" Kelly asked Katie calling her 'mommy' made it sound odd to her.
"Yes, honey, what is it?" Katie asked looking at her 'daughter'.
"I was just wondering if you could give me your ring?" Kelly said pointing to Katie's hand.
"What? Oh, you mean my wedding ring. Sometimes I forget that I still even wear it." Katie said looking at her ring finger.
"Your wedding ring?"
"Yes, I got it from your father." Katie explained.
"Do you, uh, do you miss daddy a lot?" Kelly asked.
"Yes, but you know it's a little odd, sometimes I can't quite remember our time together. Sometimes I wish I remember the times I spent with your father more." Katie said as Kelly noticed the ring warming up on Katie's finger.
Katie held her head for a second as memories seemed to flood into her head.
"Are you okay mommy?" Kelly asked sounding a little concerned.
"Oh, uh, yes, I'm fine, I just remembered the night your father proposed to me. He could be such a romantic." Katie replied.
"You must've really loved him a lot." Kelly said.
"Yes, I did, I wish there were more pictures around here of me and him together so you could see him." Katie wished again unintentionally.
Kelly watched again as the ring warmed on Katie's finger and then Kelly looked around to see pictures of the now grown Katie in a wedding dress with Kelly's deceased husband and Katie's father, or rather now it was her dad and Katie's wife now. Kelly couldn't believe how much Katie was changing things, even if she was doing it unintentionally.
"Uh, mommy, do you think maybe we could go out somewhere for a little bit?" Kelly politely asked her 'mom'.
"I suppose we could, where do you want to go honey?" Katie asked her 'daughter'.
