The ride from the docks to hospital was short. Ulysses was taken out of the ambulance, handcuffed to the stretcher. He was moved into the emergency area where he was left with a less then cheerful police officer to watch over him.

A man in a black suit quietly observed Ulysses as he was taken to the hospital. He witnessed the whole take down of his gang and his apparent transformation into a were-rat. He knew an event like this was bound to happen. A were coming dangerously close to exposing his kind to the world. A world, that still feared the unknown. Getting out his cellphone he calls his boss.
“Dymixious here. We have a situation. A were-rat broke was witnessed transforming in public.”
“Yes it’s on the news. Media is calling it ‘tail gate’. Humans and their whimsical use of words. This FBI agent did an admiral job in hiding our kind’s secret.” Continued the mysterious person on the other line. “You know what must be done Dymixious. See to it that Ulysses is dealt with. He may have transformed out of reflex from being shot, but he is a loose cannon being a criminal and all that. We can’t risk having him expose us.”
Dymixious ends his call and leaps off of the roof he was on. He silently lands on the ground. No one the wiser to him being there. He silently enters the hospital and slips into a locker room to grab a doctor’s coat and stethoscope. With his simple disguise in place he heads to where Ulysses is located.
“I’m here to exam the patient he comments to the police officer.” Dymixious remarks.
The police officer grunts and moves out of the way.
“Please wait outside.” Dymixious continues. If I need assistants, I’ll holler.”
The officer continues to grunt with his indifference and quietly waits outside. Dymixious enters the room and observes Ulysses.
“You upset the town’s founders Ulysses. With your flagrant lifestyle and clear violation of Moon Lake’s most sacred law.” Dymixious comments while preparing a syringe containing a mysterious serum. “We weres’ are resistant to lots of poisons and immune to a plethora of diseases.” He continues “Fortunately my father’s research facility has created compounds designed to deal with rogues such as yourself.”
“Who are you?” Ulysses pleads. Knowing that he is about to be injected.
“One of the elders. A guardian of our kind.” Dymixious injects Ulysses, despite the were-rat’s struggling. “I am Dymixious. My clan is dragon. I also happen to be one. 3000 years old. I was a baby when the town was founded. My clan once ruled over it. Now we protect it from the shadows. ”
Ulysses is convulsing as the fast acting poison does it work. Dymixious quickly cover’s Ulysses face with a pillow to mask any possible outbursts. Shortly thereafter, Ulysses’s struggles cease and Dymixious looks at the former meth maker and murderer. He quickly gets behind the door. “Officer, can you come here for a minute? I need assistance.”
Dymixious prepares as the officer enters the room. As soon as the officer sees Ulysses dead to the world, Dymixious knocks him out with a small cudgel. Quickly cleaning up all traces of his being there, Dymixious silently slips out of the hospital disposing of his simple disguise as soon as he enters the nearby alley. Quickly firing of a text message notifying his father of Ulysses disposal, Dymixious hops on his Kawasaki motor bike and leaves the area.
