"Then where...?" (Moon Lake of Earth-2)

added by The Masked Writer 7 years ago A

BACKTRACKING A BIT...
Wanting to entice them more without actually pushing the issue (as well as to attempt giving Julie Stovall a better chance to escape her parents wrath for now) Alyssa Cooper changed positions.
Standing upright, she walked to the shore until everything above her knees was over the water line, leaving none of her charms to the imagination.
She just stood there with a smile on her face, leaving everything for Martin and Melissa Stovall to fully view, as Alyssa Cooper waited for one of them to say something or make the next move.

Melissa couldn't help staring at the nude were-mermaid standing in the water before her.
Granted, Alyssa Cooper was only in Stage 2, not displaying her full tail despite her legs being scaled and her feet now flippers; and until the encounter in her husband's office earlier that afternoon Melissa had never had a lesbian thought in her life, but there was just something about the woman...
"I..." began Melissa, when suddenly everyone heard a twig snap.
In unison the threesome (but not the way Alyssa was hoping for) turned to see a young man trying to hide in the bushes.
"Whoever you are, come out here immediately!" ordered Martin Stovall, in his loudest Mayoral voice.
They watched as a young boy approached.
He was fully dressed, although it was obvious he had been swimming in the lake, for his outer clothes were starting to absorb the excess water off his skin.
"Err, hello," the young boy said sheepishly, carefully eyeing the three adults.
"Who are you and what are you doing here?" Martin demanded to know. Meanwhile, his wife was strangely silent, torn between the business at hand and the mermaid in the water.
"My name is Brian Walker, wereotter. It's a pleasure to meet you Mayor Stovall," he said, holding out his hand. "My mom's voted for you in every election you've been in, although I'm afraid I'm not old enough to vote yet."
"That's nice," said Martin, briefly slipping into PR mode, "but what are you doing here?"
"It's just me and mom, and we can't afford a pool, so I come out here to swim. Mom has to hold down two jobs as it is since my dead beat dad left us a year ago, but as long as I keep my grades up and am home by curfew, she doesn't mind me getting the exercise," explained Brian.

Now Melissa Stovall found her voice. "Walker... Julie's friend?"
"Sort of," admitted the boy. "We hang out sometimes. Is she here?"
"That's what we're trying to find out," explained Melissa.
"Well, I haven't seen her since school let out. We have history together," revealed Brian.
"You're the one Julie was cheating on Eric Anderson with," suddenly realized Melissa, which started to change Martin's attitude toward the boy.
"If you had asked me when it happened, I would of told you the same thing I'm telling you now. I honestly didn't know Julie was playing me against Eric or vice versa. She would call me once in a while and want to get together, but I didn't even know about her and Eric until well after the fact. If it's of any consequence, she's dumped me too since you grounded her Mrs. Stovall," claimed Brian, although he knew not all of that was true.
While the wereotter and the weremermaid still saw each other when the opportunity presented itself, he really didn't know about Julie and Eric, although was beginning to think that he shouldn't let his "little brain" do so much of the thinking when it came to women.

"Maybe we're misreading the situation," Martin said to his wife, in the most diplomatic tone of voice he could muster. "We know she's not home, but that doesn't mean Julie actually came here."
"Perhaps," agreed Melissa, trying to take her mind off of Alyssa Cooper. "But wherever she is, the fact remains that Julie isn't home and when I do find her, I'm extending her grounding until at least after Valentine's Day next year!"
Brian Walker couldn't help wondering how Julie would react to that once she heard the news. Considering today was only the Monday after Thanksgiving, and Julie was originally only grounded until after the first of the year...
"Do you have any idea where our daughter could be right now?" Martin asked Brian.
"Considering I'm barely in her circle of friends as it is, no sir," admitted the wereotter, and that WAS the truth.
"Okay. Grab your things and we'll take you home," offered Mayor Stovall. He saw his wife about to say something to that and quickly added, "Besides, three sets of eyes are better than two, and if we do see Julie along the way..."

Although Mayor Stovall was only looking at his wife at the time, both Melissa and Brian discreetly turned to look at the weremermaid in the water, but Alyssa Cooper was gone!
Damn! So I won't get laid any more tonight after all, angrily thought Brian Walker, as he reluctantly followed the Stovalls to their car. Well, whether she knows it or not, this kills it between me and Julie! Just wait until I tell the kids at school about this!
Would I have? Should I...? wondered Melissa Stovall, still thinking about Alyssa Cooper as she got in the car.
If this kid hadn't of shown up, would Melissa and Alyssa done it? And would I have gotten to join in? Martin Stovall asked himself, discreetly adjusting his pants before getting behind the wheel to drive.
