Susan had been searching the circus for most of the day. She sighed. There was no sign of her husband anywhere. She had let Billy and Emily go off on their own, with the promise of meeting back at the big top for the grand finale. She had made Billy promise to stay with Emily, so she wasn't too worried about them. However, she was worried about her husband. Where had he gone? She had to admit, the hypnotist had done an incredible job. Still, she wished her husband hadn't participated.
The sun was starting to set. She wondered why she couldn't find him. A man wearing cat ears couldn't be that hard to find. And wasn't he supposed to stay with his family. She recalled the hypnotist saying something like that. She was about to give up hope when she heard a loud roar from behind her. She tried to turn around, but as she did so, Shasta pounced on her. They collapsed onto the ground, as the tiger began nuzzling her.
"Hey cut that out!" she exclaimed, pushing the man off of her. She noticed that he was now wearing a full body costume, as well as face paint. Where had he gotten that? "Where have you been?" she scolded.
"Mrow?" the tiger tilted his head, not understanding the question.
"Oh, not talking English huh. Well, it's time for the main show. Come on." Shasta plodded along after her as she started walking. She sighed. She probably wouldn't have gotten a straight answer even if he was talking. He clearly wasn't aware of his actions. She knew that this was probably hilarious to everyone watching, but, hell, it was seriously embarrassing for her. At least it was almost over. The hypnotist had said he would snap John out of it after the main show. She just hoped she could survive that long.
