With Martin still lightly sobbing on Melissa’s shoulder; Melissa speaks. “Perhaps you could give me and my husband a moment Andrews.”
“Of course,” Principal Andrews gets up. “I'll talk to the sheriff, yet he is going to want to talk to both of you.”
“That’s fine.” Melissa Responds. “Couple minutes to collect ourselves will be fine.”
Principal Andrews leaves his office. Melissa then tells Martin what has been weighing on her since she visited Dr. Frances Twist. “Martin, I might be pregnant.” She utters.
That snaps Martin out of his funk. “What? When? Who?”
“This morning and with you, you nit.” Melissa chides him.
“How can you be sure, so soon?” Martin asks shocked to hear all this.
Melissa pulls out here were-birth control pills and hands them to Martin. He sees that the last time she took them was Friday. Today is Tuesday.
“We both were under a lot of stress the past few days. What with Julie and… YOU.” Melissa states. “Last night Alyssa got to me with her sexual advancements at the lake.
“I remember” Martin states still looking at his wife’s pills. “So the morning shower was…”
“It was a carryover of that frustration.” Melissa interrupts. “There is more. Melissa plays the voice mail she received from Alyssa.
‘Melissa. It’s me, Aly. I was thinking of you coming over here to my hotel. Or me; coming over to your place for a day of fun. Either works. We both were wronged by Martin. Why not get together and make those wrongs into one loving lesbian right. Call me.’
“Afterwards I broke down and called Frances twist.” Melissa sobs. “She also suggest we go to her for therapy. A divorce would just compound our problems of late.”
Martin places the birth control pills on the desk and hugs his wife. Glad that there is a chance to save their marriage. Shocked that Melissa could be pregnant. But what but both don’t know is that an egg was indeed ejected from one of Melissa ovaries during their act of love in the shower. And that by now one of Martin’s sperm has fertilized it. The egg now a zygote rapidly dividing in the fallopian tube, is firmly on its way to Melissa’s uterus. Time will tell if the future Stovall will either be male or female.

Principal Andrews meets Sheriff Cooper with a heavy heart. He would love nothing better than to not involve him. But the town’s charter made such matters clear when it came to Statute 1-A violations.
“I’ll be honest.” Principal Andrews states. “I’d rather you not be here. But the situation calls for a proper investigation.”
“True.” Cooper replies. “Before we begin; You have any decafe coffee?”
“Sorry. Coffee machine is broken.” Andrews replies. “There is sugar free soda at the vending machine. I can get you one.”
“I’ll pass, but thanks.” Cooper sighs. “So tell me the situation. Spare no details as it were.”
Principal Andrews spends several minutes talking to Sheriff Cooper over what has transpired so far. Andrews even lets Cooper review the security footage of both Julie’s Monday attempt on Eric and the attack during lunch.
Sheriff cooper absently searches for his aspirin after viewing the footage. Realizing he finished it off at the station he grumbles in frustration. “I’ll need to speak to Eric Anderson, Freida Knight, Julie Stovall,” Sheriff comments.
“Julie’s parents are also here if you need to speak to them.” Principal Andrews responds. “Perhaps you want to talk to them first while I collect Eric, Frieda and Julie.”
The sheriff thinks for a few minutes. “I will want to take to them. But not right yet,” Sheriff Cooper states. “The children first please.”
Principal Andrews pages Frieda and Eric to the office while he heads to the councilor’s office to collect Julie.

Melissa Stovall is all cried out now. Having Martin hug her did feel good. But they still had Julie to deal with.
“So Frances is certain that there is hope for us?” Martin comments, while still embracing Melissa.
“Well it won’t exactly be a one day fix.” Melissa says. “There is also the matter of Alyssa Cooper awakening possible bi-sexual experimenting that got suppressed in college.”
Martin lets go of Melissa and looks at her funny. “What?”
“Well before we met I was still a normal.” Melissa continues. “Frances was also a dear friend of mine at the time. I won’t lie. I did have feelings for her. But then Samantha and you come along. And well you know the rest.” Melissa finishes with a sly smile.
“Of course,” Martin chuckles. “I also remember you threatening me to gouge out my eyes with a spoon if I didn’t break things off with Alyssa.
Both laugh at the same time. Smiling over remembering, their misspent youth. “To think; without Julie screwing up, you wouldn’t be considering counseling,” Martin chuckles.
“And I wouldn’t of let you knock me up!” Melissa chortles.
“We don’t know for sure yet.” Martin retorts, barely holding back his laughter.
“Well you can thank Alyssa showing up for making forget to take my birth control pills.” Melissa erupts in laughter. Unable to hold it, Martin also lets loose with laughing.
