Kellie had to think fast. She suddenly realized that she'd actually wished for this without realizing it. The ring it had read her thoughts, no sooner had she even considered a wish that could change the two, so it happened. Now Katie was aware of all the changes to them both, even if she didn't know the cause. Some part of her kind of thought this was fun, after all, her daughter had enjoyed being older before she was aware, maybe she would be once she got used to it. Kellie decided to play dumb.
"No I'm not Katie! I'm 29" She insisted. "And you're 14, what's wrong with you?"
Katie shook her head, "No! I'm not mommy! Something's happening, you have to believe me!" Kellie saw Katie's eyes flick around her daughters bedroom. It was a typical six year old's bedroom, with kindergarten toys, a tiny bed and clothes that clearly no longer fit her. "My room, mommy! Does this look like a room a big girl would live in?"
Kellie feigned ignorance and shook her head. "I dont know what your talking about Katie." She took her by the hand and turned her around to the hall...as she did she made a wish. "Are you sure you're feeling ok?"
Katie stood, bewildered, staring at her mother. She didn't even notice the shift happening in the room behind her. "I...no, just loo-" she stopped as she turned around. Gone was the kindergarteners room. There were still soft pastelle colors, but all the ponies and little kid stuff were gone. Sports, specifically soccer, surfing and basketball were on the wall, with famous girl atheletes. The bed was larger, the toys typical ones a 14 year old would have. Katie had a desk with a computer, and her wardrobe now had typical 14 year olds fashion.
"No...what?!" Katie stumbled in, looking around. "This wasn't like it was before! It changed!"
Kellie had to admit... part of this was fun, but another part wondered if she wasn't being mean. She then decided..."
