A dull ache begins in your shoulders and upper back, and you grit your teeth in agony. Turning away from the well, you fall to your knees, and find that your arms are hanging limply by your sides. In shock, you realize that you cannot move them, and the pain in your upper torso is increasing.
"Oh no, please...I didn't mean it like that..." you groan as you begin to feel muscles and bones creaking. Suddenly, you hear your shirt rip, but you are not sure where it ripped since your eyes are clenched tight shut in desperation. You are aware that your anatomy is changing, but how and to what extent are beyond your comprehension at this point. The only thought that flashes through your head is that perhaps this is some sort of terrible dream, and maybe you will wake up soon.
You feel a drop of liquid slide down your cheek, but you are not sure if it is a tear, sweat, or a raindrop from the gloomy sky. As you cannot raise your hand to wipe it away, the itch it causes vies with the pain of your body. You cannot believe this is happening to you, and question if it is some twisted form of karma. You are certain of one thing: there is no way this can end well.
Finally, the squirming, creaking, cracking sensation in your body begins to settle down. You find yourself panting, gasping hungrily for air. You are not certain you want to open your eyes, but you know you will have to sooner or later. Cautiously doing so, you note that your surroundings seem the same, the hill sloping down away from you.
