Without even bothering to swap back into your correct bodies, you and Mei begin searching the all over the shop, looking for where the gold ring could have possibly gone. While he begins to go in the direction of the entrance to the store, you drop to your hands and knees and scan the path that takes you further toward the back of the store. The place is so cluttered that you have a difficult time looking for such a small item lost among the rest of the merchandise. Eventually, though, something glittering beneath one of the shelves catches your eye, and you reach underneath with your hand. When you pull it out, you are relieved to find that it is indeed the gold ring.
"Phew, there it is," you say, putting it in your front shirt pocket. "Better keep this in here for safe keeping."
Satisfied that you've found the ring, you double back and walk in the direction in which you saw Mei going. When you meet up with her again, you say, "Hey, I found it. It was over there."
"Oh, good," says Mei, nodding. "I really should open the store up again now. Let me just swap our bodies back to normal and dial down the spell on Kira a little first."
"Yeah," you say, with a tiny hint of reluctance. "I understand. I have to admit, it's been interesting walking around in your body, but I guess we really should switch places agai--"
Suddenly, right in the middle of your sentence, you're hit by a disorienting yet all too familiar feeling, and you find yourself in pitch dark, in someplace that feels very warm and stuffy. "Huh? Wha...?"
"Uh-oh...," you hear Mei say in a muffled voice. "Um... where did you put the ring?"
"Mei? Where are you?" you ask.
You feel the stuffiness dissipate. "I'm right here," answers Mei. His voice suddenly sounds much clearer, although you still can't see him. "Focus. This is important. Where did you put the ring?"
You think for a moment. "Uh... I put it in my shirt pocket..."
"So, technically...," he says, "you were wearing it."
It takes a moment, but the gravity of his words finally sinks in. You said 'switch places' while wearing the ring. "Oh... oh no... don't tell me..."
"I'm afraid so," says Mei. "Looks like you've switched with Brooke, and you've taken my body with you. I'm still in yours."
You gasp. "You mean... I'm your penis now?!"
