Your morbid curiosity gets the better of you. "Uh, well... how do I look?"
"Hmm... You're about half an inch shorter than your girlfriend was, and the skin tone doesn't match very well, but other than that..."
"What about Brooke?"
"She's here," says Mei. You can feel him pulling his shorts back up and kneeling down. "She's on the floor. She looks fine, just... naked." Mei places a hand gently on Brooke's back.
"Mmmh...," you hear Brooke moan softly. "Is that you...?"
"Uhhh... she's waking up...!" exclaims Mei. "What should I do?"
This is not going to be pleasant. If Brooke wakes up and sees that she's back to normal, and finds Mei in your body, she's going to remember everything. She'll know immediately that you cheated on her with Mei, and she's going to be SO upset. You don't even want to think about it. In your panic, you suddenly have an idea. It's probably... no, no 'probably' about it. It's DEFINITELY not a good idea. But at the same time, it's all you can think of. "You've got to buy us some time, Mei. Can you cast any spells to erase people's memories?"
"Well, yes," says Mei. "But..."
"Do it," you command. "Make her forget everything that has happened since we came into the store today."
Mei complies, chanting something else in Mandarin Chinese. "Okay," he says next. "It's done. What now?"
"Now," you say, "I need you to pretend to be me for a little while, okay?"
Mei is clearly not impressed. "You're not seriously suggesting that, are you?"
"It's just until you and I can get a chance to be alone," you say. "I have a plan. You just need to tell her that she came into the shop with me, and that you found a way to fix our rings so the two of us would get our bodies back."
"There's no way I can pretend to be you, though," he protests.
"Sure you can," you reassert. "You've got my body and my voice. Just say what I tell you to say, and you'll be fine."
Unseen to you, Brooke sits up. "H... Honey?" she says, oblivious to everything that has happened. "What's going on? What am I doing here? And... why am I naked?!"
Mei laughs nervously. "Uh... about that..."
