Eric Anderson was back at his house, standing in the kitchen having a bottle of water as his mother was taking measurements to reflect his new post-were physique. Her youngest son wasn't much taller than before he became a werepanther, but Eric was definitely more toned muscularly, to the point of having tight fitting clothes that were on the verge of tearing if he moved the wrong way.
As Martha dragged the tape measure across one of his arms, Eric felt a bit faint and braced himself against the kitchen table.
"Is something wrong?" she asked, concerned.
"With Spencer," said Eric, he said instinctively, even as he reached inside his blue jeans pocket for his cellphone.
SIMULTANEOUSLY...
Frieda Knight was sitting in her mother's hospital room, enjoying her coffee and having a half-way decent conversation with her parents (for once) when she grew silent.
Noticing, Amanda sat upright in her hospital bed as her uncle Lance and her father Benton drew closer.
"Frieda. You okay honey?" asked Lance.
"Something happened to Spencer," was Frieda's only response, as she got her cellphone out of her purse.
MEANWHILE...
Evan Lawson stood over the unconscious form of his daughter as his wife came running back into the room with some smelling salts.
Being a trained doctor, she was about to use them when both parents heard a strange noise.
"What is it?" Maggie Lawson asked her husband.
"I think it's Spencer's cellphone, but that's a strange ring tone," he said, not recognizing the sound of a dematerializing TARDIS from Doctor Who that their daughter especially picked for her boyfriend's ringtone.
Carefully reaching into the side pocket of her blue jeans, Evan pulled out Spencer's cellphone even as the Lawson's house phone began to ring.
"What the—" said Maggie, even as she reached for the phone.
Seconds later, the older Lawsons looked at each other.
"It's Eric, wanting to know if Spencer's all right," said Evan, holding up the cellphone.
"Frieda. Same question," said Maggie, holding up the landline's receiver. "I guess this bond thing between them's real after all."
After reassuring their respective callers, Maggie went back to reviving her daughter so they could find out Spencer's opinion on becoming a big sister if Maggie and Evan were successful in having a second child.
AT THE ANDERSONS...
"Mr. Lawson said Spencer was just emotionally overwhelmed about something they asked her, but he wouldn't tell me what it was," explained Eric, while putting his phone away.
"Well, I'm sure Spencer will tell you later, and isn't it nice to know this bond the three of you have works?" asked his mother, a bit overwhelmed about all of it herself. "Come on, we still have to get you some new clothes young man," she said, while grabbing her purse and car keys.
AT THE HOSPITAL...
"According to her mom, apparently Spencer fainted over her parents asking her opinion on something," said Frieda, relieved that her friend and lover was all right as she put her cellphone back in her purse. "So, what were we talking about?" she asked, as the three adults in the room stared at her dumbfounded.
Until now they weren't quite certain, but there was now no denying that some kind of an unique bond truly did exist between Frieda, Spencer Lawson, and Eric Anderson!
