Chemistry is Strange, Indeed

added by iWTBAT 7 years ago BM O

As the towels unfurl from your body parts, your vision clears and you could see the laboratory Bruno talked about. Apparently, it looked like something that would be fit for a archetypal “mad scientist”. You could see Erlenmeyer flasks and test tubes filled with liquids you don’t recognize. Some of them bubbled, some dissipated, while most were unreactive. You begin to think if Cybernetics was the only thing he majored in…

“In you go,” he says as he throws you into a barrel full of liquid. You weren’t able to ask what the liquid was nor see the label on the side of the barrel. Even if you were, you wouldn’t understand the chemical formula on it, like hieroglyphics.

As you and your detached body parts are submerged in the unknown liquid, you begin to panic. While you aren’t sure what this liquid is, it sure feels a lot heavier than normal water. You try to move your head out of the fluid, but it keeps pushing you back down to the middle. Your eyes hurt intensely when you open them in the liquid, as if they were burning. In fact, you feel your skin slowly be eaten away, dissolving into nothingness. You try to scream, but you’re only rewarded with more pain as the liquid flows inside your mouth.

You thrash in the liquid as you can only hear Bruno’s muffled voice. Whatever he said, you couldn’t understand it nor could you concentrate to understand it. The pain reaches its threshold as all of your skin has melted away, leaving your muscles exposed to the liquid.

Strangely… just as the pain was at its worst, it begins to subside as you feel something rebuild it. The pain becomes from unbearable to tolerable within minutes as the iron in the compound merges with your muscles. You can feel that the iron is becoming your new skin as thousands of iron atoms fuse to your body parts. However, not only is the skin being changed, but also your muscles and internal makeup! Your muscles and bones turn into iron, but they remain their former structure.

After that painful experience, you and your body parts are pulled out of the chemical. You open your eyes to see Bruno, with his ugly face as usual, holding your metallicized head as well as your metallicized parts.

“Good,” he said while patting you dry with a towel, “you’ll be ready for what’s next.”

As he carries your parts, you can see that your body parts had a metallic sheen to it. They were light gray like iron would be. While your flesh and bones are made of hard metal, you could probably move your limbs if Bruno allowed you to, but you can’t say for sure.
