"A job?" Tad asked.
"Yeah, a job," Jen chuckled, "you didn't think the pension I'm able to draw as a Marine Corps widow is going to keep you eating steaks for the next four hundred years, did you?"
Tad actually gave a weak smile and laugh at that, "Heh... heh... no."
"Anyway, it'll also be something to do," Jen replied, "what happened in Seattle is a concern... but your voice of confidence to Amy's brothers was spot on. Moon Lake has gone through plenty of things like this before and more often than not... it blows over."
"Everyone's so nervous... I guess it just got to me," Tad said slowly after a few moments..
"And that's understandable," Jen assured him, "You've never been in a place like Moon Lake before. You've had to be especially careful when your father was alive... and now... well, now you have the freedom to be more open and be with friends, be they weres ore normals who will understand. What happened in Seattle... that only represents the potential of going BACK to what we had to do before we came here."
Tad slowly nodded, as what his mother said did make sense. Though, the thing that actually pleased him the most was that she was calm, despite everything. She'd seemed so broken after his father died, and Tad wanted her to be better. Now, with Ulysses gone and after meeting with old friends, even with her mourning for Jeff still present in many ways, Jen seemed to be doing far better. That made Tad feel better.
"So... where are you planning to go to work?" Tad wondered, "anywhere in Moon Lake... or are you going to Seattle?"
"For the moment they are here in Moon Lake, but given the times... and not just the relations with happened over the weekend... I may have to look into work outside of Moon Lake," Jen answered, "but we'll still be safe. Of that you don't need to worry."
Tad slowly nodded.

Meanwhile in Washington, Agent Green sat at his desk in his offices at the J. Edgar Hoover building. The hunt for Lionel Ulysses had been his chief mission, and now with Ulysses dead his mission was at an official end. At least with regard to the investigation. He still had plenty of paperwork to file to make the reports to his own superiors. That work, however, wasn't what filled most of his thoughts as that was fairly simple. His thoughts were still consumed with the consequences of Ulysses arrest.
Teddy was sure that Ulysses had transformed out of reflex to accelerate his healing. Marci had told him that while weres could heal faster than normals could in their human forms, they healed even faster in their animal form. So when he was shot, Ulysses transformed to get back to full strength. In doing so, Ulysses created the very real risk that weres would be exposed. Before he had left Seattle he had done his best to make sure that people thought that what was caught on camera was faked, but with Ulysses dead there was no way to make sure that his ruse would be easily proven, and he knew that could lead to others investigating the consequences even further. That fact was what truly worried him.
He wanted to be with Marci in every way, but arranging leave to do that would have to wait until after things had calmed down. This meant pulling some long hours with his reports so he could monitor the news reports. So far the national news had left it at what Teddy had arranged, but one of the local papers in Seattle had made very little comment on the story. While he had found reference to a story saying the "tail was found," there was something in the tone of the article that the author didn't entirely believe that the tail that was found was real, which Teddy knew that any tail that was found wouldn't be.
"Hopefully this will go by quickly," Teddy said softly and looked a photograph he had on his desk of himself and Marci, "and then we can be together... in EVERY possible way."
