They said to kennel keeper that they need Barry to check some important information about missing children. He answered them that they are lucky, because Barry could be put to sleep some days later, he was too old to serve. So, they allow him to touch the medallion and Andy's shoe. - There have to be some logical explanation, - said Andy. It's magic, but it has to have some rules. Something is preventing the change. Maybe, I could find it in Barry's case.

His bones were fixed by a titanium rod. As I read in tales, the "cold iron" could protect him from further magic. So, to change him back, we have to remove it.
It was easier to say then to do: who could agree to do a surgery to an old dog because it have to be changed into a human? But Andy successfully has some basic medical skills he got in army. The company goes to police vet center, which was empty because everybody goes to sleep. He anesthetized Barry and put a rubber band to his left forepaw. Then he cut it and removed a rod. He does not need to fix everything back, hoping the magic could do the rest. He put the medallion into Barry's right paw, but was interrupted by Jahred.
- Use this, please. - Jahred gives him a sock.
- Why? Do you wand a twin brother?
- No, I want him to live my life. If you change Barry back into a boy, where has he to go? His parents already lost him, and nobody would believe he returns ten year after as a boy. Going to orphanage is hell - you know. But as me - he would start his life anew.
- But what about you?
- I can return to be your dog. You need your Sammy, doesn't? The difference is you know about me and always can change me back whenever need.
- Are you sure... Yes, it is better for each of us.
So they did. After they touch Barry with a sock, his body starts to twist and reform into a human shape. His fur vanished and legs grew in size, after five minutes they see a naked boy. His wound is, of course, was closed and healed during the transformation. After waking up, Barry was happy, and then they said about their secret plan.
Later, a new Jahred returns to his parents. Andy invented a story about drug dealers, which could be believed. He continues to solve many difficult cases with his dog Sammy, who seems understand human speech. Then...
