Lizzy let her hair lighten, to get rid of the blue die. It turned fiery red, then pure black, then a platinum blonde, she couldn't decide.
She saw something come into her room out of the corner of her eye. She turned and found the Powers' family cat come in and jump up on her bed. It sat there looking at her curiously.
Liz smiled, "Hello Misfit." Another memory came of Lizzy naming the cat back when she cared about it. The cat yawned in response.
Liz walked over and started to pet Misfit. "How are you today?"
"Pretty good, but you seem to be enjoying yourself. Who are you?"
Chuckling Liz realized she must have absently willed it to talk. "I am Lizzy Powers, but earlier today I was Lizzy Powers." She frowned, that damn wish from earlier hadn't been undone yet, so she corrected it now, "I mean I used to be Ty...but thats not important. Lizzy is who I was now, and she deserves whatever she gets out of it."
"Hmm," said the cat, "I agree, she has been most disagreeable these past few years, I stopped liking her."
"So you don't mind that I'm not the person you know?"
"No," said Misfit, "As a matter of fact you seem to be more friendly, what else can your powers do?"
Liz lifted her hand from the cat, his eyes were closed and he was purring from her attentions. She smiled thinking of how to demonstrate what she could do.
