Jen Slammed the phone into the cradle as hard as she could to show how disgusted she felt from that conversation.
Expecting to hear the satisfying slam of the phone landing in the station she heard nothing. She froze in place. That should have been loud but there was nothing. She raised her eyebrow and inspected the phone. Nothing looked different with it picking it up again she turned it around in her hands taking every detail of it. It was just a phone. One last time she slammed it in the cradle to the sound of silence.
Scared for the other changes she looked at herself. Her cheerleader looked normal showing her blue and gold colors. She felt the top of her head half expecting to find a beret but she only touched her head. Finally the moment of truth Jen tested out her voice first she tried clearing her throat which she felt but didn’t hear anything she said “can I talk still?” to her relief her voice still came out.
Confused she walked over to her desk and picked up a text book from school. She launched it at the floor. Once again she felt the book hit the floor but there was no sound.
So the curse works but I guess it’s not as strong as Kyle expected.” She snickered as she said to herself.
The hiss of an air brake sounded and Jen looked out her window to see the bus heading to her stop.
“Shit I have to go… but if memory serves I now have the curse. Ohh Kyle, payback is such a bitch.” She smiled as she grabbed her bag and headed out.
