Frieda Knight and her father sat in the dining area of The Local Diner* eating their breakfast sandwiches, as she started to text Eric and Spencer as to when they would be picked up.
Then she saw the little red 1 in the upper right hand corner of the envelope icon on her phone, indicating that she had received an e-mail.
After reading it, she simply frowned and started replying to it.
"Everything all right?" wondered Benton Knight, while staring at his daughter. He would not admit it unless absolutely necessary, but despite the simplicity of their meal, it wasn't bad.
"Just some fan mail from some flounder," Frieda replied, before hitting send.
"Is that good or bad?" wondered her father.
"Depends upon how you feel about spam," was all Frieda would say, before going back to her breakfast.
"Okay. Don't forget to take your were birth control pill," Benton reminded her.
"As long as you take your pills," Frieda said in return.
Benton looked at their drinks and realized they would need refills to do so, especially him, and called the waitress over for two more milks.
What Benton was unaware of was that the next time Julie Stovall checked her e-mail, there would be a brief reply from Frieda that read:
NICE TRY WITH THE FAKE E-MAILS, BUT WE'RE ON TO YOU!
But what Julie wouldn't know until Sheriff Cooper came to her house later that day with another warrant to check ALL the computer equipment in the Stovall household was that Frieda had BCC'ed** the Sheriff on Julie's latest fake e-mail attack, before filling him in on Julie's computer activities.
BACKTRACKING...
The clock radio in the master bedroom came to life.
"Good Morning Moon Lake. It's six am on a rather gloomy looking morning weather wise. You're listening to KMLC, Moon Lake College Radio and here's this Tuesday's top headlines..."
Between their acute were hearing and the fact the bedroom door was left open, the occupants of the house easily heard the news caster begin to read the items of local, national, and world interest as the weretigress stirred within the arms of her werepanther.
After their long talk earlier that morning, Lila Carpenter had fallen asleep in the comforting and loving arms of her new boyfriend Lance Knight. When they had shifted positions so that they had laid down on the couch with her on top, she neither knew or cared.
All that mattered to her was the snugly position she was in now. A place of warmth and love she didn't want to leave.
"Good morning sleepy head," said Lance, as a smile crossed his muzzle, before he kissed the top of her head. "Afraid we have to get up and face a new day."
"Oh, just a few more minutes honey," she purred into his chest, "or maybe a few more hours?" Lila asked, as she wrapped her arms around him the best she could.
"A really pleasant thought, but unfortunately we both have to be at our respective jobs by 8."
"True, but right here with you is a much better place to be," said Lila, as she looked up at him and smiled.
"Another point I will agree with, and something I will definitely look forward to in the future, like on weekends when we can sleep in. Which reminds me, I have something I want to run past you," said Lance.
"Oh, what?"
"Tomorrow night when I'm tested for bi-polar disorder, the doctor already informed me that I have to go through that part solo, but they also keep you overnight for observation and, while the doctor referred to it as a sleep partner, I can share my bed with my significant other, if you're interested."
"Really?" said Lila, now sitting up to look at him more directly.
"Doesn't mean we can have sex there, but at least we won't be as separated for as long as I originally feared."
"I'd love to, and I love you too," said Lila, before kissing him.
"By the way, are you okay on your motorcycle in the rain?" asked Lance, worried about her.
"I have been in the past, but if my Knight in shining armor wants to give me a lift to work, I'd enjoy the opportunity to spend more time with him," replied Lila, while snuggling closer to Lance.
"Tell you what. Let's get ready, and we'll stop by The Local Diner for breakfast. My treat."
"It's a date," purred Lila, before kissing him. Then a mischievous smile crossed her muzzle before she added, "Race you to the bathroom!" and before Lance knew what happened, Lila had leapt up and over the sofa and was now already in the bedroom they now shared.
I had absolutely no idea what I was getting into when I first started seeing you Lila Carpenter, but I'm loving every minute of it and you! Lance thought happily, before getting up to go after her.
