Samantha Twist shut off the alarm clock. Despite already being awake thanks to Jasmine and Saffron wanting their breakfast; the were-cat and town chancellor was just lying in bed. Not wanting to leave; content to continue snuggling with Frances who is also in her were-cat fursona.
“Morning love,” Frances yawns; “did I just hear DJ Woof mention statue 1A on the air?”
“You did Frances,” Samantha sighed; “I don’t see how he could remain a DJ anymore. If the council is worried Benton might expose us, then why haven’t they done anything to muzzle Woof?”
“Well perhaps today will be that day,” Frances stretching as she gets up;” isn’t KPXX a part of Knight media? Owned and operated by Lance Knight?”
“Yes on both,” Samantha also getting up collecting Jasmine and Saffron and heading to the bathroom; “with Lance on the were-council instead of Benton, I bet you Lance’s paws will be tied in regards to dealing with the slime ball.”

As Frances and Samantha head downstairs in their bathrobes; both pause and check in on Ben and Alex who they knew slept together during the night. Seeing Ben’s bed empty, they head downstairs to see the two werewolves sitting in the kitchen table eating breakfast.
“You two are up early,” Frances starting up the coffee machine; “did you not sleep well?”
“On the contrary,” Ben grins; “we slept soundly.”
“It’s hard to not sleep well,” Alex grinning; “when you are snuggled next to your love.”
Samantha is silent on the matter; choosing not to rain in on Ben and Alex’s bliss. Despite being with her love Frances; Samantha knew for a fact that they have both had nightmares and slept badly on occasions. Despite being snuggled with each other. Instead she gets hers and Frances usual breakfast of grapefruit and a bran muffin ready, all the while preparing breakfast for two hungry kittens that Ben and Alex are distracting.
“You two have anything special planned after school,” Frances sitting down with the freshly made coffee.
“Just some Christmas shopping,” Ben answers as he gives Saffron a gentle scratch behind the ear; “were hoping Nate will join us.”
“Ah,” Samantha grins as she places the saucer of milk for Jasmine and Saffron on the table and serves Frances; “shopping downtown or are you going to try and shoot for Seattle?”
“Probably downtown,” Alex answering; “Nate still has his after school detention. But if we can’t find anything downtown then yeah we might make a daytrip to Seattle on Saturday.”
Ben smiles, ”Alex let’s give my moms some privacy; while we share a shower together.”
“No hanky panky,” Frances chuckling; “I and Samantha will need hot water for our showers when we get ready for work.”
The two werewolves bound upstairs together leaving Frances and Samantha alone together for a quite breakfast.
“Have any ideal what you want for Christmas,” Frances asking as she eats her grapefruit.
“I have what I want for Christmas,” Samantha smiling; “you. But I wouldn’t say no to a microfiber bathrobe I saw at Awareness.”
“Any particular colour, or do you want to be surprised;” Frances giggling.
“Any colour but yellow,” Samantha answers; “and what about you? Anything you want?
Frances pauses as she looks melancholy; “What I want is for us to be with my brother Samson and my parents for Christmas dinner.” Frances beginning to tear up; after finding out through Samson that Angelica was in the hospital recovering from a hysterectomy after chemo failed to remove the ovarian cancer. Wanting to see her mother; Frances was verbally assault by her own father Joseph Carter for even showing up. This caused Samson to defend his sister and force their father to disown him as well.
Finding out through Samson later this past Monday evening that Angelica never completely cut Frances off, gave her hope at some form of reconciliation. Samantha knowing that her life partner was still an emotional wreck with her family issues, just places a paw on top of Frances’s.
“Give Samson and Joseph a chance to cool down,” Samantha comforting Frances; “Later this evening we’ll go and visit your mother. And if your father is still there and being his usual hot headed self, then we’ll just have a quite Christmas dinner with Ben, Alex and your brother Samson. It’s the best I can offer.”
“I know,” Frances choking back a few sniffles; “but I can still hope.”
