Mom and I started our way into the forest beside our cabin which was very thick; I made sure to keep an eye behind us so we can find our way back. It was a peaceful walk and Mom seemed to enjoy it and that was the most important thing I suppose, Mom really needed the happiness especially after the divorce with my Dad and her company being forced to let her go due to bankruptcy. I just hoped that she would find that much needed happiness out here.
When we reached a waterfall which looked like something you could only see in a magazine or on Google Images, we decided to relax a bit before heading back to the cabin; we did walk at least a mile or two. As I took several photos of the waterfall, something caught my eye...a golden shine coming from inside the waterfall, it looked like metal so I approached making sure not to get too wet which allowed me to see that there was a small cave behind the falls, barely the size of a small bedroom but the thing that definitely got my attention was that there was a wooden chest with a golden lock and chain just sitting there. At first I was going to tell my Mom about it but instead I just decided to grab it so I crept behind the waterfall, grabbed the wooden chest by two golden handles on both sides, then carried it out. It had quite a bit of weight to it but I was able to handle it fine as I brought it to Mom,
"Hey Mom! Look at what I found in the falls!" Mom was taking pictures of some wildlife but when she turned to see the chest, I saw her jaw drop, and she nearly dropped her phone but instead she stored it in her pocket then approached to give a good look at it,
"Whoa! This...This is amazing! We need to see if there's anything inside!" When she lifted the golden lock, she noticed that it had a tiny compartment for the key which was, of course, gold. Taking the key, she observed it closely to see something inscribed on it, the name 'Merlin'; shrugging it off Mom looked to the chest with curiosity one last time before inserting the key, twisting it, thus unlocking the strange chest. I was a little nervous that something bad was about to come out...
