Lance was at the human resources office at KPXX; reviewing the files of every single employee in the building. After informing the personnel of Jake’s dismissal and making it quite clear that he intended to shake the station up; the HR staff begun to assist lance in helping him weed through a majority of the files.
After a few hours of grueling work; Lance is left with three personnel files, the station director’s, an intern’s and a janitor.
“These are the problem people,” Lance looking exhausted; “I already have a brief ideal of the director’s actions, but tell me about the intern and the janitor.”
“The intern,” the HR lady answering; “is mostly overworked. While he does want to gain employment here; some of the staff like to treat him like a toad and do what they can to hold him back.”
“Is this the same staff you already swore up and down were fine;” Lance’s anger starting to rise as he senses being hoodwinked.”
“Yes,” the HR lady answering; “but the intern did lodge a formal complaint to the regards of his treatment and we have taken steps to stop the abuse.”
“What steps did you take:” Lance demanding?
“Well for one thing,” the HR lady pulling out a fourth file; “we had to terminate a producer’s employment.”
Lance seeing the file and recognizing the name makes him nod in approval. “That answers that question then. The station director informed of me about this last week. But he still failed to elaborate as to why this person got fired.”
“Since he was the main instigator,” the HR lady responds; “the rest quickly stopped abusing the young kid. But I’m afraid the damage may be unrepairable.”
“Why is that,” Lance asking.
“The intern never showed up for work today,” the HR lady answering; “I have tried calling him, but can’t get a hold of him.”
“Okay,” Lance answering; “what is the story with the janitor?”
“He mostly works nights,” The HR lady answers; “but has made several complaints as to the lack of help. He has even refused to do certain work based on the fact that equipment has malfunction or lack of supplies.”
“Those seem like valid concerns,” Lance looking at the file; “what action has been taken?”
“We did investigate and have verified the complaints as valid,” the HR lady answers; “yet when we brought them to the station director, no response has yet to be given.”
“So it goes back to him,” Lance thinking; “what else have you informed the Station Director, that I should be aware of?”
An hour later Lance shakes his head as he is told a whole host of issues he was not aware of.
“I guess it’s time to bring in an outside expert to audit my entire holdings,” Lance shaking his head; “if this station is close to being in such disarray, what about the rest of my media empire?”
“I can’t answer that,” the HR lady responds; “I can only advise with what I see here.”
Lance looking at the time and seeing he will not make it to the courthouse in time to observe Julie’s arraignment; knowing he has a reporter there already covering the event; Lance looks back at the HR lady.
“From now on,” Lance getting up; “I want you to personally copy me on any communication you send the station director. Blind carbon copy me on every email. I will arraign to have an accountant audit the station’s finances; when that happens I will not tell you, but under no circumstances do I want the station director getting wind of this.”
“Are you planning on replacing him;” the HR lady asking.
“At the least,” Lance answering; “criminal prosecution if I can prove possible fraud with the station’s finances.” Lance looking at the time, “I never expected to be here for almost the entire morning. Keep me apprised as to what is going on.”
Lance shakes the hand of the HR lady and heads out the door. Walking past the director’s office and seeing the door closed and the secretary not at her desk; Lance was about to leave but picks up the sound of two people in the director’s office. Listening for a bit he knows what the sound is and growls. Calling up security and waiting for them, he removes his Armani suit and shifts just as the main entrance guard arrives.
“Is something wrong Mr. Knight,” a security guard who is also a were-fox asks.
“Listen,” Lance growls; “listen to what is happening in my building.”
The were-fox placing an ear to the door clearly hears the station director and his secretary having sex.
Lance angered at what he is hearing, bust open the door to see a were-dog almost knotted with a female were-otter.
“Now I have seen all I need to see,” Lance growling; the grey furred were-panther approaching the two weres, his teeth bared and claws in full view.
“N-n-now Mr. Knight,” the director tries to speak; “I-I can explain.”
“I don’t want to hear it,” Lance snarling; “both of you better be shifted back to your human forms and fully dressed by the time the rest of the security staff arrive. You two are fired!” Looking at the front entrance guard, “make sure they don’t try to make any calls or get in touch with anyone. And inform the rest of the security as too what I just said to my former station director and his secretary.”
Lance still in his fursona and royally pissed; he runs back to the Human resources office, passing by several employees. Sniffing that they were all weres and not worry about frightening a normal; Lance walks back into the office to stare at the HR Lady.
“Until I find a suitable replacement” Lance staring at the stunned women; “you are the acting station director. I caught the now fired director having sex with his were-otter secretary.”
Before the woman could respond; lance heads back to the director’s office to see the rest of the guard’s milling about; he shifts back to his human form and redresses in his Armani suit, as he observes the director being strong armed out of the building. The secretary in tears at being caught in a compromising position tries to plead to keep her job. Lance not hearing any of it; he walks out the building, passing the same staff the witnessed him come in earlier.
With people milling about it is soon apparent that Lance Knight just upended the entire station and let several people go. While most were not surprised to see DJ Woof canned hours earlier; hearing Lance firing the station director shocked the entire building. Lance not wanting to stick around answering questions; leaves the building. Heading into his car; Lance drives off to Tachibana’s estate for his lunch meeting with Far Houjin and his grandson Kai.
