Jessica and Judy finished up all their related paperwork that would finish up their affairs related to her transformation and then made her way back down toward where her parents should be waiting for the new her. Jessica did feel proud and even stronger with regard to her changes. Sarah's former pet and "sister" may have her opinions about being a dog, but Jessica had noticed that pretty much every Animalian was happy with what they were, and she felt the same. She'd feel secure among her friends, who with the exception of Sophie, had all become Animalians and she could keep her friendship with Samuel and he wouldn't be uneasy around her. That all felt very good to her mind as she eventually made her way out of the apartment building and toward her parent's car.
"Okay, guys, I'm back," Jessica said with a smile as she came up to the driver's side window where her mother was seated.
Her mother looked over, gave a small smile and then sighed.
"How are you feeling?" her mother asked watching Jessica's nose and whiskers twitch slightly and her ears standing erect on her head.
"I feel great," Jessica said with a smile as she climbed into the backseat of the car while looking forward, "Ready to go see Sam..."
"You still want to see him?" her father asked as Jessica shut the car door and buckled herself in.
"Yeah... I want to stay his friend... and you don't have to worry about things being "inappropriate" between us," Jessica answered, "By the Edicts... I can only breed with other rabbits."
Her father threw the car into drive and sighed under his breath, "Like THAT makes me feel better."
Jessica heard, but ignored the comment. Her parents accepted her choice, but that didn't mean they fully liked it or fully supported her choice. While she wished she could have been allowed to get a double dose and be on relatively equal footing with Abby and Sarah, she figured that growing up into her future busty amazonian build would have the benefit of giving her parents the time to adapt her changes. Her father drove along until they came another apartment-like building that Animalia had been using as a sort of shelter for newly uplifted animals that either didn't have their own homes or apartments yet, which was where Samuel had been living so far.
"We can deliver the paperwork for you while you visit Sam," her mother said slowly, "you do have the signed paperwork, right?"
Jessica nodded and passed the paperwork on to her mother as she climbed out of the car. She then made her way in, her gait almost going in a sort of hop as she moved, but it felt natural to Jessica. She'd visited Samuel a couple of times before and thus didn't need to look at a posted directory in the building's front lobby. She knew which "apartment" he'd been given and moved rapidly toward that apartment. She made the journey easily and quietly knocked on the door. Jessica couldn't help but fidget as she waited for the door to open. It opened to reveal Samuel snacking on some carrot sticks and with cheek stuffed completely. He looked at her with some puzzlement at first.
"Hello..." Samuel said slowly.
"Hey, Sam, it's me," Jessica said in an excited voice and hopped forward to give him a hug, "Do you like?"
"Jess...?!" Samuel gasped with wide eyes.
"Yeah," Jessica smiled, "Do you like the new me?"
Samuel managed to recover some composure and looked to the teen rabbit before him.
"Why? Why a rabbit?" he managed to ask after a few moments.
"You seemed lonely after you were uplifted and I couldn't help much," Jessica answered, "and while I'm sure everyone has been kind to you, I figured you'd want to have a friend you knew."
"You didn't need to become an Animalian for that," Samuel commented, "I'd be just fine with you as a human friend."
"I'm sure," Jessica gave a small smile, "but most of my friends became Animalians in one way or another and I felt rather puny next to them... particularly Abby. Even if I were an adult human, I wouldn't be able to compare with a mature mare Quarter Horse."
Samuel looked to her as Jessica continued.
"And as for being a rabbit... well, your instincts aren't going to fear a cute bunny, are they?" Jessica asked.
Samuel shook his head. His instincts didn't fear her, though if she tried to take some of his food, a part of him wasn't in the mood to share with a rabbit.
"And well... I suppose you could say literally becoming "Jessica Rabbit" was just too tempting," Jessica gave a small laugh.
Samuel shook his head. A part of him felt that Jessica watched that cartoon too much, but that wasn't his place to say.
"So... now we can hang out and be friends and be comfortable together," Jessica commented, "Then when you test into Lyre High... you can join me, Abby, Sarah and her "sister" Malice, and Sophie. We can all hang out together and be best buds. And we'll all be comfortable. Sarah and Malice are Huskies, but they're very friendly. You might get some doggie kisses from them when they see how cute you are."
Samuel reached forward and calmly patted Jessica's hand, "Well... I hope you're happy with your changes, but you're really the only friend I could ever need."
The two of them then hugged.
