He paused and finally said, "Your ears are getting really tall. What the...?"
Jennifer felt the light sensation of her hair shifting and some of the skin on the top and side of her head contracting and stretching. Her sense of hearing was also strengthening. She lifted her hands up and felt her ears moving upward, reshaping into wolven ears on the top of her head.
She stepped into a nearby ally and leaned against a wall. The pressure deep in her ears was painful, but after a few minutes, it eased. However she could feel that the sides of her head were void of anything but skin and hair, and towards the top of her skull, two wolf ears twitched. "Shit," she said repeatedly.
Robert cursed from behind her, and she spun around on him. "Don't tell anyone."
"Uh," said Robert. "There was already a rumor going around that you turned into the monster that killed everyone yesterday. You having vanished didn't help things." He thought about it and started to back away. "Actually, the fact the monster vanished this morning isn't going to help things either, I...."
Jennifer grabbed him before he could leave the ally, and with a spin, she pressed him up against a wall. "Don't... tell... anyone," she growled. Holy shit, she thought. I actually growled. "Does Kevin still have control of the curse?" Damn, the meat on him smelled good. The sense of fear was stronger on Robert than it had on been on Peter. Fear, sweat, and.... Did she smell arousal?
Robert, she thought. What the fuck? Seriously?
"Control? No," he said, oblivious. "He forgets things all the time."
"No!" she barked. "Did he 'Transform or Dare' somebody else?" Something in her felt a little different. Something just opened up within her. A part of her felt sudden power over him. Oh no, she thought.
"Oh," Robert said, not noticing that anything else had changed. "Yeah. He made Marcus flub a ninety-plus yard run a few games back. He did too. Kinda surprised me that Marcus sacrificed the game like that."
"He didn't have a choice, you idiot!" Jennifer said quickly. "Robert. I accidentally hit you with the curse when I said 'Transform or Dare'. You need to pick one. Fast!" How long was that? she thought to herself. Maybe twenty-seconds out of the minute?
Robert stared at her blankly for a moment. Jennifer growled and shook him, slamming his much larger body back up against the brick wall again. "Answer!" Thirty seconds.
