Todd took one look at the transformed beast, and turned on his heel and booked it out of the library. Still running he didn't turn back to look as he felt the ground shudder and heard the explosion of mortar and glass as he darted out of the library. A thunderous roar shook the air and he felt the reptillian part of his brain take over. He ran out into the quadrangle on campus, leapt over a low wall and peered out from behind it.
Standing in the sunlight, the beast was shaking its head, trying to loosen the bit of doorframe stuck on its horns. A student walks out in front of what used to Cowgirl, and freezes in fear. With another bellow, Cowgirl's massive maw lunges forward and clamps onto the poor students chest and rends him asunder. Still screaming, the student's upper half disappears as she lifts her head to the sky, then gulps him down whole like a gator.
Her body seems to pulse and grow larger. Chaos errupts as people scream and try and flee in panic. With a gait like a T-Rex out of the Jurrassic Park movies, she walks forward, raising her head and letting loose another roar of challenge. From deep within her chest comes a rumble that seems to vibrate Todd's bones, as her tail whips back and forth agitatedly.
Campus police swarm the location, firing tear gas and riot bullets. Shaking her head, she throws up her arms to shield her massive head. The bullets slam into her soft underbelly, and she lets loose and ear piercing shriek. The bony plates on her back glow and then a beam of energy flies out of her mouth, cutting a swatch of destruction in the crowd before her. The sheer volume of that sound deafens and stuns everyone in the area. Eyes narrowed in hatred, she spins in a circle, her spiked tail clearing a path, and then she leaps out of sight.
Todd, unable to believe he is alive, looks around at the chaos and destruction and death around him. "Shit. Now what."
