The doorbell rang, suddenly silencing all conversation.
"It's just the pizza delivery guy," said Kate, as she looked up from her moping.
The others looked at her strangely, obviously wondering how she knew.
Kate sighed.
"I can smell it ..... and him, " she said, pointing to the large flat nose at the tip of her short muzzle with one clawed finger.
Carol squinted at the door, peering through it with her x-ray vision.
"She is telling the truth, " said Carol.
"Jesus, Carol. You didn't have to do that. I hope you didn't give the poor guy cancer," said Kate.
Bobbi giggled manically. Carol looked at her and began to worry that Kate might be right. Maybe the power was going to her head and they should get that wand away from her. But she could deal with that later. First she had to handle the problem at the door.
"So what do we do now?" asked Mike.
"Duh! Just pay him and he will go away," said Kate sarcastically.
"And how do we explain you - or Mike and me for that matter, " said Carol.
"Just tell him we are wearing costume, " said Kate.
"Oh! Oh! How about I just change him with the wand, too!? " said Bobbi eagerly.
Carol looked at her skeptically. She was now sure that she needed to get that wand away from her.
"No, I think we have had enough fun with that today," said Carol.
"I agree, " said Mike. "Why don't we just hide in the other room and let Bobbi pay him? I mean, she is still normal after all."
"Fine. Come on, " said Kate as she stood up in a huff and led the others to her bedroom. "But don't say a word about the mess in here. I wasn't expecting guests today. Well, at least not in my bedroom."
Carol and Mike followed her into her room and sat down on her bed. It groaned under Mike's large weight.
Great, it's probably ruined now. Thanks again, Bobbi, thought Kate angrily. That's another thing you owe me for. And you will pay. Oh yes, you will pay.
Her thoughts were interrupted when she peeked out the door to watch Bobbi talk to the pizza delivery guy. She saw with some surprise that Bobbi had left the wand behind on the bar unguarded.
Now, if she could only get to it before Carol could stop her......
