"Why can't this bastard leave us alone?" Harry Jenkins demanded to know, after Dean Myers told him and his fiance Jenny Harper the latest developments in regards to Dieter Wilhelm sending yet another henchman to Moon Lake to stop their impending wedding.
"While I will not accept such language in my office young man, I'll let it slide under the circumstances because I'd like to give this creep a good swift kick where it would hurt the most," revealed the dean of Moon Lake College. Then he turned to address Miss Harper. "Are you sure this man isn't a were? Because he's sure acting like a few were-jackasses I've had the misfortune to meet."
Karen Yuletide, Jenny's dorm mate, best friend, and maid of honor smiled at the comment as Jenny replied, "I honestly didn't know weres existed until I came to Moon Lake, but I wouldn't be surprised. Yet I think he's more of a were-snake, unless you have something more repulsive, low, and slimy to compare him to."
"Well, being both a weretiger as well as the dean of this college, it's both my nature and responsibility to protect the three of you as well as the rest of the student body and faculty," replied Myers.
"But to lock us up in the college's safe room every night until the threat is dealt with?" Harry asked. "Why can't we lock Wilhelm up instead?"
"Personally, I'd like nothing better. Yet right now, from what I've been told, the authorities have no actual evidence against him," revealed the dean. "The first man they suspected of being in league with him was killed trying to escape custody rather than say anything incriminating against himself or his employer."
"That doesn't sound like the Dieter Wilhelm I've had the misfortune of knowing," observed Karen. "He can be all friendly in public, but I've seen his dark side. He's berated or fired people in front of me for as little as not bringing him a drink fast enough or failing to carry out his orders to the letter."
"And I assume you've already advised the police and Tachibana's security forces about him?" wondered the dean.
"Yes sir," said Jenny, nodding her head affirmatively.
"Okay. Some of the Skulk are supposed to be here soon to escort you to gather anything you might need over the next few days Mister Jenkins," announced the dean.
"But what about the rest of my family? My classes? Jenny's therapy sessions? I'm also scheduled to be fitted for a rented tux on Wednesday," pointed out Harry.
"And we still need to finalize a bride's gown and something for me to wear as her maid of honor," added Karen.
"All of these issues will be addressed," promised the dean. "Security is being increased here on campus, and Tachibana no Akane herself has assured me that your family will be watched over by the Skulk Mister Jenkins. We will try to address and meet all of your needs over the coming days, but your continued safety, as well as that of Moon Lake itself is our top priorities."
"I know you're doing all you can Dean Myers," said Jenny, "and believe me, Harry and I are very grateful. It's just that a wedding alone would be a stressful time without everything else going on."
"I know. When I got married, my fiance would have been a wonderful poster child for neurotics. The day of our wedding, she was even worried if there was enough ice cubes in everybody's drinks," revealed the dean.
"I'm not quite that bad, since we're keeping it as simple as possible," replied Jenny. "Besides, dealing with my parents will be nerve racking enough without Wilhelm sticking his nose into things."
"Don't worry honey. Everything will be all right," said Harry, giving her hand a squeeze while kissing Jenny on the cheek. But if necessary, I will kill that bastard before he gets a chance to harm me or Jenny!
