As Melanie Jenkins prepared to face her first day at Moon Lake High School, her father Harold Jenkins drove off to Moon Lake College.
Once there, he asked to see Dean Myers as soon as possible.
"Sir, Harold Jenkins is here to see you," announced the Dean's secretary over the intercom.
"Jenkins? Is everything all right with him and Jenny Harper*?" asked the dean.
"Sir. This is the other Harold Jenkins. The one who will be teaching history starting next semester," the secretary reminded him.
"Oh. Right. Please send him in," requested the dean.
As his visitor entered his office, Dean Myers saw that the man didn't look happy.
"What can I do for you Professor Jenkins?" he asked, being as cordial as possible.
"What kind of a zoo are you people running around here?" Harold demanded to know.
"Excuse me?" asked the dean in return.
"After my wife passed, I came to Moon Lake looking for a fresh start with my daughter, not for one of us to go all... whatever you call it," said Harold, throwing the pamphlet Samantha Twist left him down on the dean's desk.
The dean picked up the pamphlet and looked through it before saying, "I see the town is finally trying to replace that seriously outdated guide book they've been using, but this thing is woefully lacking vital information. Probably because of its small size," before handing it back to Jenkins.
"You can imagine our shock when not only did this Mrs. Twist transform into a living... werecat I believe she called herself, but announced that one of us would have to become a were whatever too within a week voluntarily or else the choice would be taken from us," revealed Jenkins.
"That isn't quite like the Town Chancellor I know. Then again, there are a lot of things going on right now that we're trying to handle," replied the dean.
"Yeah. She mentioned something about a wedding between two... people, and the groom happens to have the same name as myself*."
"It's... complicated," admitted the dean. "Now then, why don't we sit down and discuss everything rationally. I'll answer any question you might have to the best of my ability to do so," he suggested.
