You weren't sure you would able to sleep at all with those creatures in the house, but the others were confident the basement was safe and you eventually managed to nod off.
It was strange, when you first woke up. For a second you almost forgot everything that happened yesterday. You almost expected to see your old body in your old room when you opened your eyes. Of course then you remembered, you're not a single man anymore. You're Elizabeth Lynn Amber Hood. You say your new name over again in your head, and each time you find yourself growing more accustomed to it. You're not sure if that's a good thing.
Looking around, you could see everyone else was already up. Mother and Grandmother were talking to each other and getting ready for something, while Becky sat next to you. It took you a moment, but you realize she was watching you.
"Good morning sis, have a nice sleep?" she asked, trying to lighten the mood.
"Not really. Why were you staring at me, did I drool in my sleep?" you ask.
"No, it's just... well I've never had a sister before. I've always wanted one, and I hope you don't regret making that bet with me."
The two of you are called over before you can respond.
"Girls, it's time to drive these monsters from our house. They're still up there and they're still pig-werewolves, which means we will have to destroy them." Mother said.
"The two of us will go upstairs and attempt to deal with them. This is an entirely new creature, and I don't know if silver will have any affect on them. In case it doesn't, you two will be staying down here. Rebecca, you will need this."
Grandmother gave Becky an amulet of some kind. It had a smooth stone that seemed to show an image of a landscape, but you couldn't make out details.
"I've never seen this keystone, where does it lead?" Becky asked
"Somewhere far from here. We've kept it down here in case of an emergency like this, and hopefully you won't have to use it today. But if you hear us call to you, you must use it to get you and your sister away from here. Do you understand?" Grandmother asked.
"Yes, I do." Becky said.
"Good. Liz, you will need to stay close to Rebecca in case you need to use the keystone." Grandmother said before turning to mother.
"Are you ready, Alice?" she asked.
"Yes mother. Let's go." Mother replied.
The two of them approached the wall and summoned the door. They slowly began ascending the stairs, and soon they were out of your vision. The next few moments were extremely tense; the house was quite as you and Becky waited for something to happen. Soon you could hear shouts and growls from the upper level, followed by the sounds of a struggle. Neither of you dared to move until one sound rang out clear; a woman screaming in pain.
"Ma!" Becky cried.
"Rebecca! Use the keystone!" Grandmother called down from upstairs. As she did, one of the monsters came lunging into the basement, heading straight for the two of you.
