While Mel's dad, Harold, drove off, Mel found herself in front of what seemed to her to be a foreboding structure. Going to a new school was a bit rough, what with new people and all. But going to a school full of werebeasts was a different setting altogether. The uncertainty of the situation chilled her insides, as dread filled her. Thoughts raced across her mind. Would they accept her? Would they try to change her? Would they eat her alive and throw her entrails across the halls? If these people were just normal humans, she would just have to worry about the social aspect, but this was something different. After taking a quick deep breath, she made her way through the doors.
At first glance, this didn't seem any different from any other high school. Kids running around, adults telling them that there's no running around. Posters hung on the walls of advertising pep rallies, after-school clubs, and other news. She quickly and quietly made her way to the halls, hoping that she would avoid notice as she made her way to the office. While she was moving, she couldn't help but notice how unusually attractive everyone was. The boys all seemed to look like they worked out, and she couldn't help but stare at them. A few of them caught her staring, and they just smiled and waved. Her only response was for her face to turn bright red and look down at the ground as she walked quicker. Even the girls seemed to be attractive. All of them seemed to have rather large busts for high school girls, with attractive hips and slim waists. Although some were bustier or curvier than others, none of them would be out of place and all of them had body styles that worked well together.
It wasn't long before she found the office and walked in. Her face was a bit red and she was breathing a bit hard, probably because of how quickly she walked there, and maybe because of other reasons. A brown-haired woman was busy typing on a keyboard when she heard Melissa walk in. "Can I help you?" she asked turning towards Melissa.
"Um, yes, um, I'm new here." Melissa said, stuttering a little.
"Ah, yes, your name?" the brown haired woman asked.
"Melissa. Melissa Jenkins." Mel replied.
"Right, right..." the woman said as she pulled a drawer full of files. "Melissa...Melissa...Jenkins...Ah, here you are." The woman pulled out a simple file and she quickly read through it. "So, it says here that you just moved here, and your father, Harold, enrolled you in last week. You just moved here yesterday, correct?"
"Yes, ma'am," Melissa replied.
"I wonder if you're related to that werefox couple that's getting married. Well, no matter. Welcome to Moon Lake High." The woman took a moment to read through her file. "So, it says that both you and your father are normal, is that correct?" Melissa nodded. "And I take it that Samantha has visited you?" Melissa nodded her head again. "Okay, good then, we don't have to be careful around you. Now, before I tell you what your room number is, there are a few rules you probably should know. We have strict rules here. First, we don't allow any romantic gestures here, including hugging, kissing, making out, or anything like that. Weres have high libidos, and mix that in with teenage hormones, and it's a miracle that teens aren't having sex in the halls. Second, transformation is generally prohibited during school hours. While we do make exceptions, such as Halloween or in cases of emergency, in general, no one is allowed to change into their fursonas while here at the school. Last, it is against the law to turn a normal into a were against their will. We take that very seriously here at Moon Lake High, as well as your safety. If anyone tries to scratch you, bite you, or otherwise tries to change you here, let a teacher know immediately. So, do you have any questions for me, Ms. Jenkins?"
"Um..." Melissa said as she paused to try to take in what she heard. "No. Well, except where's my class room?"
The woman smiled and said, "Well, you're in room 153. Just turn left after leaving this office, and it'll be off to your right. Now, I know that we're almost two months into the term, but I think you'll be fine here. If you have any questions, or need help catching up, just let a teacher know, ok?"
"I will," Melissa said in response.
The woman handed Melissa a slip of paper and said, "Here's your schedule for the rest of the day. Have a nice day."
"Thank you, I will" Melissa replied as she walked out the door. Following the woman's directions, she made her way to the classroom without much trouble. She opened the door, and saw a room of teens talking to each other in small groups. When she walked in, almost all of them looked up right at her. Not wanting to be the center of attention, she quickly made her way to the nearest empty desk, putting her backpack down. She couldn't help but notice that many of the people were still looking at her. Fortunately, it wasn't long before the teacher walked into the room and started class, much to Mel's relief.
The class continued on about astrophysics or something like that. Mel was too busy looking around at her surroundings to really be paying attention to what the teacher was saying. Once the bell rang to signal the end of class, the students started to pack their bags while the teacher gave out last minute homework assignments. Mel had her bag almost packed when she heard a voice behind her say, "Hey, you must be new here."
She turned to see...
