Moon Lake; Jenkins: Hi...

added by s1 6 years ago O

A young man about her age looking to her as they made their way out after their first period class, a Sophomore science class. He was easily taller than her with broad shoulders and a very deep chest, even for a fifteen year old. For a moment Melissa could only stare forward to him. He blinked for a moment and then waived a hand in front of Melissa, if only to attract her attention.

"Uh... hello?" he asked to her as he waived his hand.

"Oh... I'm sorry," Melissa managed as she backed away and shook herself out of it, "I didn't mean to..."

"It's okay," he chuckled, "you looked a bit uneasy... nervous... sort of like you needed a friend."

"Well... I suppose there are a lot of things that have me nervous," Melissa said slowly as they stood in hallway together, " I mean..."

"You're unused to all the... uniqueness that is Moon Lake," he smiled, "our were population and all that..."

"Yeah..." Melissa answered, "My dad and I just arrived yesterday and got the whole rundown... that one of us would have to become a were or..."

"Well... there is the fear that someone may try to expose us," the teen spoke, "and we've had a lot things to be nervous about in that regard of late."

Melissa didn't say anything. She wasn't all that familiar on all the things that were going on that might have Moon Lake nervous and she was still trying to get used to all that she and her father having to go through. The teen male, however, remained calm and his big brown eyes looked warm and welcome and his lips remained in a fairly friendly smile.

"But all things considered... everybody's pretty friendly," he said to her, "It's pretty rare that we get someone that would take your choices away from you or your dad. If you want... I can answer some questions for you... what's your next class?"

"Um..." Melissa began as she soon dug into her book-bag again and dug out the paper that the school secretary had given her. She ultimately handed it to the teen. He then smiled to her.

"You're in luck, we got the same morning schedule, come on," he said to her, "we can talk on the way."

The two began to walk along at a fairly brisk pace, as they didn't want to be late. Melissa started with the most obvious question.

"So... what's your name?" Melissa asked, "are you a were?"

"Trevor... Trevor Tyson," he gave a warm smile, "and yeah, I'm a were. A bull werecow... based on the Braunveih breed..."

"Braunveih?" Melissa asked.

"It's a Swiss breed of dairy cow, the name is German for Brown Cattle," Trevor answered.

"Neither Trevor nor Tyson sound Swiss... or German," Melissa commented.

"I can't really tell you why I'm based on that breed," Trevor gave a shrug, "My mom's breed is based on the Texas Longhorn and my dad's breed is based on the Shorthorn. There are lots of breeds of cattle and I think that for every werecow... whichever breed one is... just happens to be the one that one is most connected to."

Melissa was a bit confused by all of that as they walked along. She couldn't begin to fathom all those differences, but she decided to let that go. Trevor had been polite and she saw no reason to pressure him on why he was one specific breed and why his parents were based on two different breeds.

"Well... my name is Melissa... Melissa Jenkins," Melissa said to him, "For now, I'm a normal human being."

"For now... you're looking to be your family were?" Trevor asked.

"Well, some things have me rather curious and intriguing," Melissa said slowly, "I mean... all the girls here... they look... well..."

"We are a picture of health?" Trevor chuckled, "male or female. I suppose its to keep our populations going and fed, I suppose. My mom has told me it took ages for her to feed me as an infant. Though, sometimes I think she's trying to guilt me into doing the dishes."

He playfully elbowed her and Melissa did find herself laughing at the joke.

"But in the end, you shouldn't have to worry about your choices," Trevor told her, "if anyone tries to bully you... let me know. I'll pulverize them for you."

Melissa watched as Trevor puffed out his chest and flexed his arms. He was definitely trying to show off for her, as some of the boys in her old school did the same, however, Trevor actually did a good job of that on his own. He was practically built like a champion wrestler without a ounce of fat on him. It made her a bit curious about what he'd look like transformed. She remembered that Samantha Twist had gained a little in size when she transformed to prove the existence of weres, though not much. Would Trevor gain the same amount, or because cattle were larger than cats would he gain even more muscle mass. After a brief moment of day dreaming, she shook her head.

"The secretary said to tell that to a teacher," Melissa countered.

"Well it helps," Trevor shrugged, "but still... you could still have a friend... and all of us here would like to be friends... and while I'm Moon Lake born and bread... my mom came to Moon Lake and joined were society, so I've heard plenty of stories about her coming to adapt to Moon Lake's were society and joining it. She's always urged me to be courteous as normals are going through a lot when they first move here. You looked a bit nervous, and I figured you could use a friend at least."

"Thanks..." Melissa answered, "It would be nice to have a friend."
