"How much do you know about Toon Town rules for moving here?" Kayla asked.
"Well..." Kevin scratched his head, not wanting anymore awkward moments between them. "Not much honestly, I love furry toons, and I always wanted to visit here, don't get me wrong, I came for YOU Kayla, but I liked finally having an excuse to come here, NOT THAT YOU'RE AN EXCUSE! Sorry sorry!"
Kayla kindly shook her head. "It's okay Kevin, I understand." Then Kevin was startled as Kayla actually took her dress... showing her full furry body underneath, but she saw she had no nipple, or anything else R-rated.
"Ka-Kayla-"
"Oh, sorry Kevin. Most humans are kinda awkward seeing us go around without clothes on, so I wear the sun dress to keep the tourist board happy." She stuffed the sundress into a purse she'd pulled from behind her back that hadn't been there before, and again hide it behind her back, into whatever pocket universe she kept it in.
Kevin's eyes were glued to her adorable form.
"Back on track," Kayla said leaning back. "You know what happens when someone 'goes native' in another world right?"
"I read about that... that's when they retroactively have a past there, while their past in their native world vanishes."
"Some suggested this was done to keep realities from 'contaminating' each other. The same thing happens here. But with some differences. If you become a toon, you become an idea, immortal, and you likely get your own comic strip or a background part in some cartoon. You manifest as an concept in someone's head on Earth."
"Were you... ever human?"
Kayla shook her head. "Nope! But my mother was! She wrote a posted note on the forth wall as a reminder to herself."
"Forth wall? I know what that is... but ... well, where's the audience?"
"Oh you can't see them... yet. But they're there. They aren't there all the time. Just for the interesting bits."
"Like right now?"
"Like right now. Don't worry, no one you know is seeing this."
"... THAT... is a relief. So... if I stay there long enough, I turn into a cartoon character?"
"Yes. It's part of the Plot, which is born of the Script. Or is the Script a manifestation of the Plot? There's actually a lot of debate over that. The way it happens depends totally on the Story though. Kevin, I'm not sure what kind of Story ours is yet. But you don't need to stay here. If you're just here as a tourist or guest, then it's a lot less likely to happen to you. After all, can't have good business if no one ever comes back right?"
"Can I decide on what kinda toon I'd become?"
"That's normally up to the Script, but if you actively seek it out, you can likely customize it a bit. If the Story stalls out, I'm sure you'll run into Mr. Plot Device, and he'll provide you with something."
"Who?"
"He takes the form of whatever's proper for the part Toon World he's in. He's a Hunchback in Halloween town, a cutie cat/rabbit on Anime Island, you get the idea. He shows up and gives away objects to help the Characters along if the Story needs something to kickstart it."
"I'll... I'll need a while think about this..."
"I understand... it's a big sacrifice."
"Are there any cartoons you've been in?"
"Well... kinda sorta not really, lots and LOTS of stories never make it actually into Production... let alone past the Cutting Room Floor... I think I've shown up as a background character a few times to round out the setting. Though this does mean the exciting and dangerous stuff doesn't happen to me. Conflict is the heart of any Story."
"Anything else you should tell me?"
