"You said, 'new life,'" you pipe up, not comfortable with how big the gaps in your memory are. "That must mean I had an old life. What was it like? What was I like? Who was I? What was I?!" You become a bit more frantic towards the end.
"That is beyond the scope of my knowledge," the voice answers, much to your dismay, but continues, much to your surprise. "But does the past truly matter? You will determine who and what you will be from this day forward." The voice makes sense, but it's not very satisfying.
"What other information can you give me? What is in the scope of your knowledge?" You ask a little tersely.
"I am merely here to establish the paramaters for Elemoth which you will set," the voice responds flatly as you frown.
"So I'm...the god of this new world?" you ask curiously. "But wait, if I'm the god, how come I have to rely on you?"
"Do you wish to be the god of this world? Please specify whether Elemoth will be pantheistic, monotheistic - " the voice begins.
"NO! WAIT! I didn't say I wanted to be a god!" you shout out, worried you have spoken too quickly.
"Very well, then please decide upon gender first," the voice responds evenly, but your curiousity is aroused.
"Is that...a possibility? To be a god?" you query.
"All options are possible at this point." The voice states. You are tempted, but also worried. Do you want that kind of responsibility? You need to know what kind of world you are going into before you make these decisions, not after!
"Can I put off the decision about gender for now? I mean, it could vary depending on my later choices, right?" you ask the voice.
"Option selected: Genderless. Please pass through the door." The voice responds.
"What doo- " you trail off as a door pops up in front of you. Nervously, you step forward through the doorway to find yourself in a large white room. Something feels odd, and you look down, only to gasp. You now have no breasts, and looking lower, no vagina, no genitalia whatsoever. However, that's not the strangest part. You reach up, only to touch your completely bald scalp. You realize you are now like a store mannequin in appearance, a completely blank slate in terms of gender.
"This is not what I meant!" you yell in panic.
"Option for gender may be modified upon choice of race or species," the voice answers, just as calmly as before. "Now then, as we speak, Elemoth is being formed, and will continue to take shape based on your decision. Please proceed to select physical, psychological, and spiritual characteristics."
You feel overwhelmed. This is too much, and you know too little. What if you choose wrong? Will you have a miserable life? Will you create a miserable world? However, as your mind races, something akin to excitement is also present. The excitement of a new adventure, of omnipotent power, of limitless possibilities. You can't remember anything about yourself, but for some reason no academic knowledge seems to be missing from your brain. Using that knowledge, you can create a world that bows entirely to your will, and whether you choose to be good or evil, it will be relative to your existence. In other words, meaningless to you.
As you calm down, you begin to consider the possibilities seriously, and put together a strategy for surviving in whatever world you end up in.
"Okay, I think I've decided," you start. "I would like to be..."
