"I would like to be a shapeshifter," you hurry on, remembering how you were cut off by the voice before. "I want to be able to take any form at will, and to have all the abilities and characteristics associated with that form while I am in it. I would also like to be unable to die, and if something happens to my body, like say it gets blown apart into smithereens, I would be able to reconstitute it at will. Also, no one else will have control over what form I take. Oh, and no one will know I am a shapeshifter, and there should be no other shapeshifters in Elemoth." You run through as many characteristics as you can think of to give you an advantage in any new world the voice could think up.
"Confirming: the option selected is 'shapeshifter', correct?" the voice asks, and for a second, you hesitate. You were torn about becoming a god, but what would be the point of being omnipotent in this world? It would get boring if you could make everything turn out the way you wanted it, and if something didn't turn out well, it would be your fault; too much responsibility. Better to just fool around as an observer, but you wanted enough power to stay alive and happy.
"By the way, when you stick me in this new world...'Elemoth,' right? Will I still be able to contact you for information, or to change anything in the world?" You cut in, still not sure.
"I will remain as your guide for as long as you wish. In terms of the parameters of Elemoth, once set, the overall characteristics of the world cannot be changed. However, matters which require observation to be established may be modified prior to such observation," the voice responded flatly.
"Require observation...so you mean as long as I haven't seen that something exists or doesn't exist, I can still change it?" You ask to clarify.
"Affirmative," the voice responds tersely.
"Okay, yes, I want to confirm the selection of shapeshifter, with all the characteristics I stated earlier, but I want to add something. I want to retain all knowledge I currently have, and remain sentient at least to my current degree no matter what form I take. If you can do that, sounds good to me," you affirm.
"Selection confirmed as shapeshifter," the voice says, but apart from a bit of a tingle, you don't appear any different. Looking down, you concentrate a moment, and suddenly your breasts and vagina morph back to their former positions. With another thought, you return to the genderless form you had a second ago, a smile on your face.
"Please select current age," the voice breaks off your experimentation.
"Uh, well, since I don't know how old I am...how about we just say whatever age I am now. Oh, and I want to have eternal youth and infinite life," you state firmly."
"Option selected: no change in age, with the subselection of eternal life," the voice continues. "Please set worldwide parameters for Elemoth. These include: topography, demographics, species, religious affiliations, genders..." the voice begins to drone.
"Yeah, yeah, I get the picture," you cut in. You've thought about this already, and you have thought of a way to have a lot of fun. "You have access to my knowledge, right?" The voice confirms your suspicion, and you continue. "I want you to use all my knowledge of possible worlds and combine them into Elemoth, but leaning towards the fantasy realm. That means more magic than technology, and all sorts of creatures like dragons and elves. Put as many fantasy creatures as you can there, and you can even make some up," you continue under your breath, "if you have the imagination for that sort of thing."
"Parameters: Fantasy-inclined. Please state size of world."
"Well, as big as you can make it," you hedge. "But round, a sphere. A planet, with unknown space fit for exploration beyond the atmosphere."
"Limits for world size being tested...testing...testing...world maximum size confirmed," the voice stated, seemingly duller by the moment. "Please select societal position on Elemoth."
"Since I'm a shapeshifter that nobody knows is a shapeshifter...," you think, but decide it's too much trouble. "Why don't you surprise me? Pick a species, race, gender, society, religion, etc. and create a character for me. I can always shift into something else if I hate it, so this could be fun."
"Societal position: random. Please proceed through the door and enter Elemoth," the voice orders.
Like before, a door pops up, and with a deep breath, you walk through. Blinking, you find yourself...
