Samantha woke up feeling scared; sensing someone was watching her, her fur up as she scanned the room for potential intruders. Seeing nothing, but having that feeling of dread; Samantha instinctively hisses when one of her kittens, Jasmine swats her ear. Samantha seeing the tiny creature cringe and slowly back off as Samantha realizes what she just did.
“Oh my little jewel,” Samantha whispering as she quickly grabs her and takes the terrified kitten to her bosom; “I’m sorry tiny one, mommy has had a stressful day.”
Looking to see that Frances is still sleeping, Samantha grabs her cellphone with her paw to look at the time. Seeing that it has only been roughly ninety minutes since she got home; Samantha looks again at her grey furred kitten now calmed down and purring snuggly between Samantha and Frances. Samantha sighs as she thinks about her mayoral opponent Kenya. Meeting her once at the Anderson household during last year’s Thanksgiving Day; this was back when she and Nate Anderson were dating. Kenya did seem pleasant and cordial; not at all evil and manipulative. Samantha however did not know how Kenya went on a tear after Nate broke up with her. Dragging her then fiancé into helping her stalk Nate Anderson; a teen boy that Jack Crawford held no malice towards and still doesn’t to this day. It wasn’t Samantha that saw the were-panthress prowling the Anderson household weeks after Thanksgiving; it was Frances.
Samantha sighed as she goes back to what her life partner told her in passing; Hearing about Nate finding out that Kenya didn’t quit her side business as promised and noticing that one of Kenya’s “clients” proposed to her; Nate eventually broke it off with her.
Without realizing it; Samantha had a brief rundown of Kenya and Nate composed in a text message and sent it to Lance Knight.
“Oh dear god what have I just done,” Samantha realizing as she just sent Lance something that could potentially bite her and Frances in the ass.
“Done what,” Frances stirring; the auburn furred were-cat yawning as she rolled over to stare at her life partner’s feline face.

It was a cellphone with the ring tone “Bark at the Moon” that caused two werewolves to stir from their peaceful slumber. A furry paw smacking down on the offending noisemaker; it is soon grasped as a werewolf groggily answers.
“Who dares disturb nap time?”
“Well a hello to you to Alex. I’m just returning your text you sent earlier. But if you want I can call back later.”
“Oh Austin,” Alex quickly waking up; “I wasn’t expecting you to call back so soon. You’re still at work right?”
“Just got home an hour ago,” Austin answering; “your text regarding a new pack member does sound interesting. If Zylina really wants to join, we can schedule a pack gathering this Sunday if that works for you.”
“I’m sure it will work for Zylina,” Alex answering; “you don’t need to tell Ben. I’m currently snuggled with him.”
“You randy werewolf,” Austin chuckling; “you let Nate know since he also lives next to you. I’ll be calling up the rest of the pack to let them know of this Sunday’s impromptu gathering to induct a new member.”
“I’ll give Zylina the good news then,” Alex yawning; “take care Austin.”
Alex hangs up as Ben slowly stirs. Still spooning his lover after there last session of love making; Ben sees that the time is roughly five thirty.
“Was that Austin,” Ben yawning.
“It was,” Alex half debating on whether or not to get up; “we have a pack meeting this Sunday to induct a new member.”
“Zylina right,” Ben beginning to get up; “Are we informing the rest of the pack?”
“Austin is doing that,” Alex feeling his werewolf lover disentangling himself from him. “I or you get to inform Nate.”
“Lets do that later,” Ben stretching; “What say we order a pizza? You pay, since you got a ton of cash today.”
“Alright,” Alex smiling; “I’m sure I can afford to splurge for a grease wheel or two. But it’s got to have lots of pepperoni and mushrooms on it.”
“Add bacon,” Ben grinning; “and you got yourself a Canadian.”

“Well,” Frances looking at her life partner after Samantha explained to her the text message she just sent; “I can see how you can be worried over that. But I’m sure Lance Knight won’t do anything to risk his paper and reputation reporting what could be construed as slanderous and libel.”
Frances ears perk up as she can hear Alex’s cellphone go off and a muffled voice answering it.
“It sounds like Ben and Alex are getting up from their nap,” Frances looking at Samantha; “Perhaps we should both head downstairs and get something to eat while we discuss our days.”
“Well I am feeling hungry,” Samantha getting up; “plus I want to hear what happened regarding your parents.”
“Ben also has some news to share,” Frances smiling at Samantha; “but I’ll let him tell you. I don’t want to spoil his surprise.”
