As you ponder your decision, you begin to feel water begin to drip onto you. Looking up you realize it's beginning to rain, large gray clouds already starting to cover the sun as the rain slowly begins to increase in force.
You didn't know much about survival and nature but you had a feeling that soon you'll need shelter. You look around wondering whether or not you should try and camp out in one of the ancient ruined buildings. However something frightened you about staying the night here and you decided to trust your instincts on that.
Looking back at the amulet, you wonder what to do with it. It looked nice but maybe it could be worth something. Maybe after you got out of the park you could sell it at some jewelry store.
You gently grab the amulet inspect it in your hands. It felt so strange holding it. The golden metal almost seemed to radiate warmth and light at you, as if encouraging you to take it alongside you. The blue sapphire gemstone was different though. It was much more... exotic. Otherworldly even. Looking deep into its crystal heart you saw... space. The cosmic foundations of space. Stars, planets, gravity, blackholes, galaxies, and supernovas. This gemstone reminded you of all of these things.
In the spur of the moment you decide to take it with you, shoving it in your pocket as you begin to make your way out of the ruins. The rain was starting to pick up but you felt at ease for some reason. The cold didn't even seem to bother you that much.
You start making your way into the forest looking for shelter and if possible any berries that you could eat as well. Eventually you find a small cave built into the side of a hill and proceed to make shelter there. After making sure there weren't any animals already living there you gather some dry sticks and twigs and after several tries you manage to make a small fire. The flickering flames growing unsteady at the increasing cold as the rain starts to begin pouring down outside of the cave.
The fire stars becoming more confident as you feed it more twigs and rocks, eventually a strong fire forming.
You warm yourself next to the fire, glad to have a source of warmth as you sit down into the uneven ground as you watch the rain pour from outside.
Realizing you still had the amulet, you take it out of your jeans and begin to examine it more throughly. What was it? You thought trying to figure out its meaning from the little information you had. Looking at it you begin to realize its beauty. This was no shoddy work. Even someone like you could identify that this was clearly made by a master jewelry crafter. Elegant lines and articulate decorations covering the amulet, making you wonder who had made it.
The amulet was exactly the same as the one the dragon carvings on the altar wore. Perhaps it was some sort of ancient religious artifact? Maybe it was worth thousands if not millions of dollars?
You began to think of the possibilities as you realize this amulet could possibly be your source of wealth and fame! You never heard of a North American culture that worshiped a draconic like deity with a sapphire amluet before!
Then as you imagine yourself selling the amulet to a wealthy businessman you imagine yourself losing the amulet.... if you sold it, chances were you would never get it again. Why would you want to throw away such a priceless artifact? You look back at the amulet and see how it glows in the firelight, its blue crystal radiating beautifully in the darkness. You wondered how it would look on you if you were to wear it. You weren't really into fashion or jewelry but maybe this would be a good fit for you.
